Good luck Kyrin! I’ve been hoping for a chance to get a sun dragon that wouldn’t break the bank, but with Christmas presents to buy he’s way out of my range 🙂
He’s kinda breaking my bank, but considering how hard they are to come by, I figure this is my best chance at one.

November 24, 2007 at 8:19 pm #638145Well someone sniped him out from under me at the last minute. I suggest they don’t ask me to be the one to repair him. Because that would be beyond tacky as far as I am concerned.
I am not happy.

I will for sure.
November 25, 2007 at 5:16 am #638150Aw, that sucks Kyrin. Hope you find another one. I’m just hoping I won’t get sniped tomorrow since I’ll be out all day. 😕

Yup! Maybe one in better condition, for less money. Ya never know….
November 25, 2007 at 3:57 pm #638152Maybe, but i doubt it, thing that made me mad was that I lost two in a row yesterday, both to last minute snipers.
And after I put up this thread more or less asking folks to leave it to me. The person who sniped him happened to be a forum member. I would have been less upset if it had been a complete stranger, but if this person had been paying attention, they would have known how much I wanted him, and I would like to think they would have left him to me.

November 25, 2007 at 4:25 pm #638153But ebay doesn’t work that way. People have sniped things from me at the last minute when they knew that was the piece I needed, but that’s just how it goes.
All’s fair in love and ebay, as some other board members say. Getting upset about it won’t do you any good. Just keep an eye out for the next one.

Yeah, I know. It’s just frustrating, and I am not the type to do that to anyone else. If I know someone really wants it, I will let them have it. I’m just not mean enough I guess. So it always comes as a unpleasant surprise when someone else is.

Ebay is buisness. Forum is pleasure. No need to mix the two. That forum member (whoever it may be) has just as much right to that item as you. More if they have more money. Getting upset about it and posting your displeasure here is not fair to them. I dont think your wants should be a factor when it comes to how much I (or anyone else) bids. And calling them mean??? Lets be real here; Who is being mean now? 😕
November 25, 2007 at 6:42 pm #638156I agree with Ski; Ebay and the Forum need to stay separate.
I don’t know how you can label the winner’s actions as “mean” without even knowing their intentions. There is no evidence of malicious intent.
Also, they may have seen that dragon even before your thread and really, really wanted one to fix up. Just because you made this thread about the piece, and they didn’t make one of their own (for instance, I never make a thread about Ebay pieces, but it doesn’t mean I don’t see things I really want) doesn’t mean you wanted the piece more or are entitled to it. And even if they just kind of wanted it versus really wanted it, if they are willing to spend more, they have every right to bid. I’m sorry this seems to bother you so much.

You know, despite opinions here, I happen to be a human being too, with faults. Which means that whether or not it is a good thing to feel resentment or anger, I feel them. I am not always stellar at hiding them, nor is it necessarily healthy to hold it all in all the time. So sometimes, now and then, I admit to being upset or disappointed enough to vent.
I felt it was safe to vent on here, because others have done so in the past, and there have been other instances where someone has been accused of being mean, inconsiderate, or just plain malicious on here, but no one called the person on it, why? Because the person being accused of these things wasn’t a forum member.
But it still stands that everyone is capable of doing things that displease or upset others, and apparently as long as the offender is NOT a forum member, it’s okay to lambast them all we please, but if it happens to be a forum member, then we are supposed to swallow our disappointment and anger and just lump it.
Well I’m not like that, I happen to be a pretty honest person, I don’t like sniping, I don’t care who the heck does it. I think it is rather reprehensible to wait until the last 5 minutes or 30 seconds and swipe something out from under someone who held the item for days and was sure they would succeed in obtaining it.
If you want something, I think you should bid early enough so that the person who has had the high bid for awhile knows that there is a contender, so they can be prepared to fight for it. Not sneak around behind their back. Sorry, but that is how I feel, and I won’t apologize for my feelings. You may feel they aren’t very charitable, whathaveyou, but they are my feelings and I have every right to have them, and every right to voice them. This is still a free country, for now.
I am also of the bent that if someone really wants something and it finally comes up at auction for a reasonable price, I feel that they should be able to get it. I have bowed out of auctions where I knew the person bidding really wanted it badly. I could have fought for it and made it cost more, but I felt that if they really wanted it, it wouldn’t be fair of me to take it.
Maybe that isn’t the way it works for most of you, apparently eBay is just business and the definition of business is cutthroat and without consideration for others. That’s fine, but please don’t ask me to be like that, and forgive me for being hurt that people I consider to be friends could care less about me all because getting something they likely already have 6 of cheap, is more important than my feelings.

November 25, 2007 at 8:03 pm #638158I think the word to be used here is Tact. Having feelings and being human is fine…but when other people are involved and in what way they are involved, Tact is important. There are ways to vent while being concoiuse that the other person we may vent about is a human with feelings too.
We all know you are human sweety, and have feelings…the others are just trying to point out that the person who sniped it is a person with emotions too.
Wasn’t Nirvana one that sniped all the time and got railed on pretty good for it?
