Because it doesn’t LOOK like a rainbow.
A real rainbow in the sky is flat up GORGEOUS. A really stunning one should take your breath away, and is a true wonder of nature. It is usually against a spectacular backdrop of darker clouds as a storm rolls away. Trying to imitate that on a dragon is tacky. The colors we use can’t even begin to come close to what a real rainbow looks like, and in fact is as ugly as a real rainbow is beautiful.
And ’cause it’s a pain in the patoot to paint, eh. o_o;
The only way I’d ever buy something rainbow is if it were tiny (like a curlie) because I don’t like it either…but still have the twisted desire to have one thing in all the different colors. XD
I’d rather have a green-gold oriental, if we’re picking new colors for the way-off-in-the-future-return. =)
yeah…see I don’t care for the rainbow either honestly…
I saw one in person…and although I liked the violet on it…the rest didn’t impress me…
and of course now that the meaning of rainbows has been warped all around…I wouldn’t have anything with a rainbow on it….
Ok so what if we renamed the color to something other then rainbow? I don’t care what anyone says I LOVE this color and would love to see an oriental done in it.

The sun dragon is my favorite sculpt next to the ki-rins. And I would have a royal cow if we painted those in that abominable color scheme. The sun dragons deserve a lot better than that, as do the ki-rins.
Oh, and DM, I strongly suggest that you don’t take jabs at me like that. I don’t pick at you over your color likes, unless invited to do so by topic. It is unappreciated. And I show my unappreciation in creative ways, as the board well knows. Next picture will not be revealed if it is a photoshop job, or not.

I loved my rainbow fledge which I traded away for a peacock one. But I can honestly say that I really don’t care for them in any other sculpt I’ve seen.

I never said you couldn’t have a personality. However, singling a person out for a dislike of something is both immature, and totally not warranted. Flashing RAINBOWZ RULE11!!1 in bold, bright colors, then singling me out for my dislike is very likely to grab my attention and in a bad way. It shoves it down my throat, and that isn’t a feeling I like. I suspect you wouldn’t like it if I posted a picture of a peptol-bismol colored old warrior and said LOLZ DRAGONMASTERS FAVORITE DRAGON, now, would you?

Well, I am glad to hear that there will be more orientals, regardless of the color. I would agree with Frozen, that a white would look nice. Maybe silver or gold, too. I think gold.

The Oriental sculpts are so nice, even if they do cling kicking and screaming to their molds. 😆 I’m glad that they’re on the “someday” list. Maybe we’ll see a test someday in blue and pearl. But frankly they look good in just about anything that we’ve seen so far, including all of the test paints! 🙂
