Beware if you decide to purchase a piece from Crystal Fantasy (the site with the overpriced production things…).
I just purchased a ruby young oriental from them since it wasn’t too much over cost, and it arrived today…in it’s original box with a priority mail sticker on it for $6. I was charged $15 for shipping. No insurance, no double boxing, nothing.
I’m quite relieved that it didn’t break, but now, even if I found a piece there that was what I was looking for and within what I might pay for it, I wouldn’t go back.
So if for some reason you guys think you might want something from there, reconsider. Your piece may not get as lucky as the little guy I got today.

June 12, 2007 at 4:26 pm #588620Are you planning on contacting them on a refund for your other $9 you paid for shipping? I would.

I sent them an email asking them why in the hell (in more polite terms, I promise) I was charged $15 for shipping when all they did was slap a sticker on the box and throw it in the mail. I also explained how it should have been done and what could have happened.
We’ll see what they have to say for themselves.
June 12, 2007 at 4:44 pm #588622Dang! Hopefully you will get a refund but more likely its one of those mysterious “handling” charges. 🙄
June 12, 2007 at 4:49 pm #588623Yeah, some places do have handling charges.
June 12, 2007 at 4:49 pm #588624*snort* What handling? It was already in it’s original box, all they did was drop it off at the post office!

I guess for the gas that they used to get there. Gas is expensive. 😆
June 12, 2007 at 4:56 pm #588626If it took them three gallons of gas to get to the post office, they ought to be looking into a car that gets better mileage.

Well, if you count the gas, the wear on the vehicle, which, depending on the vehicle, can be up to $.83 a mile, the money they have to pay the worker to go to the PO… It takes me an hour whenever I go, depending on the line, so its not that bad. But Def could have been wrapped better. That is just ridiculous. 🙄

Or move closer to the post office. hehe

Honestly I wouldn’t have minded paying the $15 for shipping if it was double boxed and insured, neither of which happened. I feel like I’ve been completely fleeced for $9, which doesn’t thrill me. Even if it is only $9. I could’ve used that for something.
June 12, 2007 at 5:08 pm #588630How much are young ruby orientals anyhow? I saw one in Gatlinburg and was considering snatching the little fellow up….
June 12, 2007 at 5:13 pm #588631They were $100 at Crystal Fantasy. I think if Windstone ever did reissue they’d be $80.
