Wow, I haven’t heard of that. I hope Sunhawk isn’t at the island.
June 27, 2007 at 6:51 pm #591528I think by the “the island” she means England.
June 27, 2007 at 7:43 pm #591529Aw, that makes sense now. I was kinda confused. hehe

LOL! I’m alright! I was in Manchester when it was flooding in Sheffeild and I was like “HOMG that’s not very far away from me!” and sometimes when I took the bus from town to town, I’d see flooded farmers’ fields and feel bad for the cows standing on their little islands of grass!
It was certainly very rainy when I was in the UK! But I had a superawesome time and even got some sun a few times! ^___________^
July 31, 2007 at 8:19 pm #591532Sweet. Tell us what you did while you were there.
August 1, 2007 at 12:30 am #591533Yeah! Do you have pics you can share?
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I host the feedback lists, which are maintained by drag0nfeathers.
http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmAugust 1, 2007 at 4:43 am #591534I do have pics! TONS of them! I am currently sorting through them, resizing them, deciding if I want to scan any of my film camera pics, I may have taken too many! :X
I will let you guys know when I have them uploaded somewhere but basically this was my trip:
I went from Canada to Manchester, spent a few days there during which I accidentally attended an anti-war protest, then took a bus to London and visited the zoo and museums. I went to Camden market and Portebello market, as well as Picadilly Circus where I accidentally (but with much delight!) attended the London Pride parade! π
Next I stayed with a friend in her flat near the south coast of England, she had a really cute Exmoor pony and together we visited nearby Salisbury (with its cathedral) and Stonehenge! π
After that, I took a bus to Gatwick airport and flew to Dublin, where I stayed at an adorable B&B near the National Botanic Gardens, which I visited at one point as well as the Dublin Zoo ^_^ I went up to Malahide Castle, through Howthe and on another day I had a lovely afternoon at the beach at Bray, I accidentally wandered into a carnival LOL
Next I flew to Edinburgh and stayed at a hostel that was right across the street from Edinburgh Castle! π I wandered the Royal Mile, the Edinburgh Zoo which has a PENGUIN PARADE (:D π :D) and took an AMAZING day tour through the highlands to Loch Ness, where I got on an hour boatcruise around the loch π No monsters showed up sadly!
I also climbed a nearby extinct volcano refered to as the Lion, and the highest point is called the Lion’s Head or Arthur’s Seat – it was pretty darn high! That was a dirty, nervewracking climb sometimes, with steep zigzagging stairs and then climbing over muddy rocks LOL
Then I decided to take a 9 hour bus back to London to meet up with a friend in time to go to the Lovebox Festival, where Blondie, Sly and the Family Stone and Patrick Wolf were performing, among others. They were all super awesome! π That was also like a carnival, with rides and DELICIOUS FUDGE and other food π
The day after that, I decided to make a Depeche Mode fan pilgrimidge and visited the small town of Basildon, which is in Essex LOL I was planning to really just take a few pics and jump back on the train, but my friend and I saw some posters advertising a free festival! LOL So we went to the Basildon Festival that had MORE carnival rides, food and a stage where an Eric Clapton coverband was doing a pretty good job! XD
Then I made my way back to Manchester and flew back home ^_^ And that’s basically how my trip went! π
August 1, 2007 at 7:48 am #591535That sounds like too much fun! I think the trip on Loch Ness is esp cool. π

Aw Sunhawk you must have gone right past my town going to Stonehenge from Exmoor, π
Salisbury is great in the week because thats where the army lives and they normally dive bomb stone henge with all their helicopters every hour or so and come bounding over the filds in tanks, i have seen people nearly have a fit whilst driving through π
Im going to Canada in two hours πAugust 1, 2007 at 3:29 pm #591537skigod377 wrote:That sounds like too much fun! I think the trip on Loch Ness is esp cool. π
Loch Ness was beautiful and the highlands were definitely the highlight of my trip ^_^ If there’s anywhere I can think of that I would consider “dragon country”, that would be it – it’s just so majestic and BIG over there π

I totally didn’t see any army or tanks, dangit! LOL But we were only there for about an hour before going to Stonehenge heh heh
Where in Canada are you going? ^_^
August 1, 2007 at 11:06 pm #591539Sounds like you had an awesome time, Sunhawk π Definitely posts some pictures when you have them all sorted out. My little sister just left Sunday for a backpacking trip through Europe. I’m jealous π

That’s so cool! I wish I could backpack properly but my damaged rotator cuff in my shoulder kinda makes it impossible at the moment heh heh. But I still had fun pulling my wheeled suitcase from country to country XD
August 2, 2007 at 5:55 pm #591541That sounds like a lot of fun. I loved Ireland and I want to go back there, maybe have a vacation home there.
