Hello! I recently received a pair of bird winged Flap Cats to fix up, and the Siamese one looked rather odd to me. It’s wings are gold, with no trace of the purple or blue paint. There also seems to be gold interference paint on the wings as well. There is no felt pad, but a Pena 88 mark on the back where it should be. Here are some pictures!

The black bird winged cat that came along with this one has a felt pad, but it doesn’t say FLAP CAT on the bottom like I’ve seen in others.

Are these guys unusual? I’m hoping the Siamese isn’t a repainted one!

Did you get them from craigslist?? I was after those too 😉 I’m interested to hear what’s said about the gold wings on the siamese – I was curious about them as well.

Heh, actually I did! The seller didn’t want to ship them at first either. They’ve definitely got some damage to them, but I’ve restored a couple of flapcats before and look forward to getting these guys pretty again!

I did paint some like that, but how that one got, out I have no idea! If it is real.. good find!…and it looks very real! If the pad got ripped off, that might account for the greyish mark on the bottom… I don’t know what the black rectangle on the bottom is, though.

Another Windstone surprise! Nice catch, Zelda. Congrats.

Thanks for the insight Melody! The Siamese cat is just as heavy as the black one it came with, and the crystal in the necklace is the same as well. There appears to be a number or marking scratched into the base, underneath the black rectangle. I may be tempted to try and remove it with some alcohol or acetone.

I’ll try and take some more pictures of it tomorrow in the sunlight, and see if the inteference shows up better.

That is the person and makes sure they are good castings, touches up the seam lines and finishes the bottoms.
Those marks are added indicators that it is a real Windstone.

Oh Cr@p! Now I have to get one. I guess I’ll be posting stuff on Ebay this weekend.

Melody, why do you have to make stuff I really want?! 🙁 (I bet you never thought you’d hear a complaint like that! 😆 ) Go back to the dragons so I can catch up on my bills! 😉
