Bring her to the doctor. If it’s nothing, you’ll find out. It’s worth it for the peace of mind.

I agree, get her to the doc fast. The longer an outbreak like that stays the longer it takes for a rash like that to go away and it could leave marks on her skin.

she broke out while we were eating at a chinese place…she had a bit of fish, chicken, bread, brocolli, mushroom, cheese, beef and noodle. But it’s hard to say what her food came into contact with. I didn’t take her in at first cause I figured it might be to the food and webmd said that it can go away within a day or a few hours. But now it’s been over a day and I really dont want to wait anymore, we’ll be taking her in a little after lunch.

If she has a food allergy it’s best to find out now. These can change as people age- sometimes they get better, sometimes they get much worse. Last thing you want is it to turn into an emergency!

                    Aw, poor girl!
Looks like hives/allergies. I think fish and mushrooms are the most likely culprit… No trouble breathing or swelling around the face?

                    Keep us updated…

her face looks swelled to me but she’s breathing just fine…just as energetic and happy as usual. We did try giving her a half dose of children’s benadryl, the spots went away but came right back when it wore off.

Poor Aurora 🙁 My niece, Eden, has severe food allergies and Aurora’s rash looks like Eden’s reaction to milk products. The other question I have is have you changed laundry detergents or used a different brand of soap or fabric softener? Eden reacts to those things as well. My sister (Eden’s mum) has a very tough time keeping Eden rash free because what she reacts to changes so quickly! Things that used to be okay suddenly aren’t anymore and things that caused problems no longer do….. extremely frustrating! I sure hope Aurora feels better soon. I think getting her in to the doctor is a good idea. Good luck and keeps us posted…..

That does sound like an allergic reaction! But like Nam said, those can get worse with repeated exposure. It’s a really good idea for Aurora to avoid eating a second time whatever it was that set her off this time, just because we don’t know how her immune system would react: it might be hives, or it might be a lot worse. The pediatrician should have some pointers. Also, Aurora may have been reacting not to a main ingredient, but an item used in the recipe. Can you obtain a list of all materials (including spices) used in cooking the dishes that she sampled? I know it’ll expand the “scary” list a lot, but then you could sit down with the pediatrician and go through the list and narrow it down. Some items will be immediately crossed off, because you’ll know that she’s eaten them before without trouble. The others . . . be careful. And peanut oil is sometimes used in Chinese recipes: this might be a peanut allergy (which I hope it’s not. I’d rather it was something exotic and rarely encountered, like “pink singing lungfish mushroom” allergy).

Oh wow, I hope you fing what is wrong. I hate when kids get sick or there is something wrong, and being a parent you feel helpless cause you don’t know what to do. Hope the doc can get thigns straitened out for her. Poor girl, get better!

she wanted her daddy, so he is the one taking her this time around…they’ve went. He’ll be calling me and letting me know as soon as we find out something.

Aww! It is something that she ate… my girls at that age would break out from eating tomatoes… now they are just fine and can eat all they want. But something got her! WOW! They use differnet oils and stuff to cook with… ya never know until something like that happens and you just want to faint! I bet she’ll be okay!!!

Yup, it looks like an allergic reaction! But not the severe one, though, otherwise, her eyes might have puffed up and she would have had trouble breathing. The rash is probably coming back because whatever caused the reaction is still in her system.

Time and finding out exactly what should take care of it.
