Well sorry that I haven’t been on for awhile, (not like anyone should have noticed) I am terrible in buisness english, but here goes….
Iceland has some really bad financial issues, like three of the biggest banks went bankrupt in one week, they had like little banksies out in Britain and Holland and the savings of millions of people, these savings were worth like 60 times the finances of Iceland (or more) now the Brits have used “terrorist law” (it was recalled after some arguments but that took awhile) to freeze all icelandic estates and bank accounts, no currency flow, and there were some buisness restrictments because British banks refused to transfer Icelandic money between countries, so for awhile it looked like we would have no fuel (HELLO an island with no railroad or subway system, the nation would have been paralyzed) The króna (Iceland’s currency) is practically worthless, for the first time it is worth less than the japanese yen
no solution in sight
PS: Don’t worry, we are fishermen and we do have agriculture so we will survive
November 7, 2008 at 10:56 pm #739198I did read about the freeze. Sorry you’re stuck in the middle of all that. 😥
November 7, 2008 at 11:21 pm #739199I noticed you haven’t been around 😀 😀 😀

I was wondering how you were doing up there and how it was affecting you in the country. The news failed to mention that assets were frozen for estates and people though.
November 8, 2008 at 12:07 am #739201thank you dragonmedley (no wonder we talk like twice a week on email)
Siberakh1: well I personally am not really that affected (asides from this harmonica I was going to buy from a british website, I am not sure they would let it ship to iceland, and it is like 50% cheaper there than on Ebay, and it is like 50% cheaper on ebay than on iceland 🙁 )
it affects the wholesalers and buisnessmen and the people that have money, sorry “had”, and there have been news and hearsays about bisarre behavior,
Icelandic people being thrown out of pet-stores in Britain just because they were icelandic, an Icelandic student was thrown out of the appartment he and his co students rented in Germany (his co students were british) etc etc….
this is freakin’ ridiculous

November 11, 2008 at 10:59 pm #739203I was aware that other countries have been suffering as well, but I didn’t realize to what extend. I’m really sorry to hear this. And your absence has been noticed; there has been no creative poems to tear up to or laugh with 🙁
November 11, 2008 at 11:02 pm #739204I miss our poetry matches between Bros and Ski.
