I haven’t been here much lately. Too much time in the hospital. My husband had knee surgery on the 13th. He’s doing great. I had a large kidney stone removed on the 19th. Was in the hospital overnight. It went well, but I was running a low grade fever afterward. Lots of chills. I also found out that I have a heart murmur. I was having some trouble breathing after I got home and my chest felt tight so I got in to see my doctor on the 24th. I thought/hoped I’d be coming home with an inhaler. Instead I was sent to the cardiology section of the hospital. I thought I was just going to have some tests done and go home. Ended up staying for 3 days! Lots of tests, lots of blood drawn. Didn’t sleep well at all. I’m exhausted.
Good thing is, after all that, my heart is fine. They think it was just stress from all that’s been going on. I was very anemic though and they felt that would account for some of the shortness of breath. Along with the infections I was having, I had lost a lot of blood because of that kidney stone, plus I was on blood thinners which didn’t help. Thay took me off of those. Fortunately, I had 2 weeks off for the surgery, so I still have another week off to rest. I’m sure hoping the New Year is better!
December 28, 2012 at 6:03 pm #890666Oh Copper I’m so sorry that you didn’t have a good Christmas 🙁 I am SO glad to hear that you are in the clear as far as your heart goes though, nothing scares me more than heart trouble. *Hugs*!! I hope that your new year is enjoyable, and hopefully your extra week off will help you a lot. I hope you get all the rest you need! <3

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.December 29, 2012 at 12:45 am #890693Not a fun Christmas . . . good grief, I’ll say. 🙁 But the most important thing is that the kidney stone is OUT, and now you can get down to some recovery. Regarding the murmur: anemia can definitely cause a murmur all by itself, as well as shortness of breath. I’m glad to hear that the docs think that that was the culprit, because you can totally overcome that now that Lithy the Obnoxo-Rock is out of the way. Please take good care of yourself and think positive thoughts. You can heal now! 🙂

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmDecember 29, 2012 at 1:28 am #890697Thanks for all the good thoughts you guys. It really helps. And thanks for the info about anemia causing the heart murmur, Bardwing. I’m hoping that goes away on it’s own as I heal and get rest. Looking back, I suspect that I’ve been anemic for quite a while.
Monday I have my post op visit with the surgen (I don’t think he knows anything about the rest of this). He’ll be removing the stitches and the stint they left in. I’m hoping to see pictures of the stone, but it will be in lots of pieces. I’m told it was about the size of my forefinger from the tip to the second knuckle. No wonder it was causing problems!

Merciful heavens. :O What a miserable brute that stone was! It always amazes me what modern medicine can do. Obnoxious kidney stone the size of a Siberian hamster? Say hello to lithotripsy, rock! |( I’m glad you’ve got good doctors in your corner, and that you’ll be on the mend now. Congratulations! 🙂
