I dont care for her either and I think she needs to pull up her panties and act like a big girl.
That said, the producers of the show changed her number at the last minute and she didn’t have a lot of time to practice. The coreographer (too lazy to spell check)used a stand in for Britney during rehersals.September 13, 2007 at 2:13 am #616018So if they where professional and worked with her this might now have happened
September 13, 2007 at 2:31 am #616019It is a shame that everyone is watching her in the first place…it is sad that no one has the guts to take her away and REALLY get her some help.
People watch and they laugh at her and the other young women like her….there are 4 or 5 of them. If someone in their lives actually cared about these young women they would get them help.
I am not a fan of her or Paris, Nicole Riche, Lindsey Lohan or the rest…but this sets a bad example for the young people who idolize them.

Exactly why young adults today get so screwed up and got to schools and start shooting up their classmates then themselvesSeptember 13, 2007 at 3:46 am #616021siberakh1 wrote:Chessapeaka wrote:That sounds like something a Soul Caliber character would wear.

Engaged to a WeaselSeptember 13, 2007 at 11:54 am #616022I’m not a fan and didn’t see the performance, but my husband showed me a still on the internet. If she is fat, the rest of us “regular” women are what? It’s a shame that you have to look like a skeleton with some skin stretched over it to be considered beautiful by Hollywood standards. No wonder so many young girls (including her) are screwed up in the head.
September 13, 2007 at 12:39 pm #616023She really has fallen a long way. She messed up when she married Kevin and it cant be easy to see your ex bf (her first love) Justin T. doing so well when she is doing so awful. Going through a divorce and a custody battle, having people call her an unfit mother… if cameras are on you 24/7, they are gonna catch you screwing up at some point. I feel for her. I like her just fine… I just think she is going through too much and has no idea how to handle it. She grew up in the spotlight (MM Club) so she probably just has no idea how to handle grown up problems. I tell you, I wish I could be her friend/life coach right about now. I feel for the poor girl.
September 13, 2007 at 1:07 pm #616024I was never really a fan of her music. She hit the big time when I was in middle school, and I’ve seen her videos. That VMA performance was bad compared to others. She is not fat, so I don’t get why people need to pick on her for that. She’s not as toned as she used to be, but is in pretty darn good shape after having those kids! The outfit was sloppy looking though… like no imagination or taste whatsoever… Just like her performance actually. She was probably high or drunk like others are speculating. It is reported that she did party with P Diddy, Paris, and others the night before the performance! You just don’t do that when you’re doing a big performance the next day! She’s young and rich though, all that money gets them into some serious trouble sometimes. Maybe one day, she’ll wake up and realize what she’s doing to herself.
September 13, 2007 at 2:05 pm #616025I can’t believe I’m posting on this thread! God, this forum is so addictive! ANYWHOWS…
I don’t think she looks fat or has a weight problem. I prefer a gal like her as opposed to stick thin chicks like Paris. I do think she looks trashy because of the way she acts, not what she wears. She looked stoned on stage, kinda blank and not sure of where she was, which is kinda sad considering the boatload of cash they must’ve paid her. She kinda drifted through the entire thing. I feel kinda sick though that she probably made more in those 5 min,
acting totally wasted, than my colleagues and I will in the next 20 years teaching inner city kids 😥
There’s my retarded celebrity rant for the year.Oh, and BTW I’m not on this forum at work…I work for a nonprofit and start with the kiddies next week… 🙂

Well, I’m supposed to be teaching kids 🙄
It’s hard to have any time to yourself at work as a teacher. 😥

I resemble that remark. 🙄
September 13, 2007 at 4:31 pm #616031Well, now that the flood gates have been opened….
I would have really been down on Brit if this had happened a couple of years ago. Since then, I’ve had quite a few hard life bumps and I’ve soften somewhat.
Since everyone was making such a fuss (on the internet) about her performance I went looking for the video. I only saw one performance on the MTV site with her in “the outfit”. In my opinion she was not fat at all, especially after 2 kids. The outfit was not appropriate for her at this time and well, very few non-18-year-olds would have been able to pull it off. Her performance was not top notch, but it didn’t seem totally bad either. She did seem a bid dazed, but it was hard for me to tell if she was on something, or she just wasn’t prepared for the routine.
What I found most interesting about all the criticism is that we do this to ourselves everyday in our society. I hear people around me all the time saying something about people behind their backs (people they know or perfect strangers). I think it is a vain attempt make ourselves feel better. In all fairness she made a lousy relationship choice and had a couple of kids (I have been told this can mess with your head) and then is trying to restart her career from her time off. She’s had a lot of emotional issues and I can only assume that those around her are probably not the best influences. I think anyone in that situation would not be at their best in any sense of the word.
I don’t want this to come off as me getting on anyone for criticizing her – that is not my intent at all. I just thought it an interesting mental exercise to see how we mirror ourselves in what we value or devalue in others.
