Figured we should have a thread for tracking the northern lights for those who strive to see them. Here we can post pics we have taken of the auroras, and updates on active storms and spottings.
I only request that pics are dated with an approx location of sighting, and that kp levels and storm updates include dates as well. 😀
Statues updates can usually be found through NOAA or http://www.softservenews.com
Tracker in comment number 1.

Last night we had much fog here but sightings occured in Wisconsin & Indiana and along the IL/WI border.
I’ve always wanted to see the Aurora live & thought it’d be worth the trip to Alaska just to be able to view and film the event.
Any forum members get any pictures of the Aurora?

November 21, 2015 at 6:49 pm #937330There was a time a good 10+ years ago that my hubby and I saw them. We lived in Kansas at the time. We were driving on I-70 to my parents’ house in KC at night. We saw some odd looking light/colors to the north. It took a few min for us to realize what we were seeing. It wasn’t really large and obvious like it is farther north, but it was cool to know that we were able to see some so far south.
Love baby kirins, safari poads, mini keepers, and anything BLUE, BLUE, and, oh yes, BLUE.
