Hi Melody!
I was wondering if there will be any more noah’s ark candle lamps that you will make? I am hoping there will be soon because Noah’s ark is the theme for the nursery, and it would make a great “first windstone” for my baby!February 18, 2008 at 5:51 pm #666587eaglefeather831 wrote:Hi Melody!

Did we discontinue the original one? If so, it will probably be awhile if we ever start making those again… however they usually go cheap on ebay.
I have no immediate plans for a new design, but I do have one other Noah’s ark candlelamp I haven’t produced. It was clunky looking and I didn’t like it.February 18, 2008 at 6:15 pm #666588I think it’s just out of stock right now. I’m not sure if you are retiring it or not. My order sheet just says O/S.
February 18, 2008 at 7:05 pm #666589grandio still has them in stock…
so I’m sure there are a few places out there that will have them…
there are some posted on ebay pretty often….

I see there is a link now! (Although, I really do hate buying Windstones on Ebay because it is hard to trust how they will package it, and also it is impossible to trust the UPS/USPS people.) But I might make an exception! 😉

We still have the Ark Animals Candlelamp, here. It’s new and full price, but I pack so you don’t have to place your trust in UPS handling the package with kid gloves (UPS doesn’t issue kid gloves).

February 19, 2008 at 4:29 am #666594Uh… hold up here a minute.
That candlelamp is still on the active pieces list. It’s just probably one of the slower sellers, so we haven’t been casting much… like the leaf cat sconce. We haven’t retired it as far as I know. Unless Melody was thinking of retiring it.
February 19, 2008 at 4:54 am #666595that was something i was curious about… with the move coming up and all, if there were any loose plans for retiring any pieces, or a color scheme on the note of out with the old in with the new. that’s my paranoia kicking in- i don’t want miss out on any pieces i still need to get of things that have been out for a bit. 😳 i still need a bad cat candlelamp, a wolf sconce and a couple more pieces in black gold, in regards to things that have been out for a bit… 🙄
i guess the same applies for some of the limited production out of stocks in the store still- white risers and sitters, the browns, the griffins, etc. have slowly been selling out- which is good. but which may we see again and which are gone forever… not like you guys don’t have ENOUGH to do and worry about already! lol! i totally get that you may not want to keep putting stuff in there when i would guess you’d ideally move as little as possible up to oregon, plus, keeping all the painters busy with producing the new red fires, etc. for the physical stores, etc. etc….February 19, 2008 at 5:15 am #666596tfsculptures wrote:that was something i was curious about… with the move coming up and all, if there were any loose plans for retiring any pieces, or a color scheme on the note of out with the old in with the new. that’s my paranoia kicking in- i don’t want miss out on any pieces i still need to get of things that have been out for a bit. 😳 i still need a bad cat candlelamp, a wolf sconce and a couple more pieces in black gold, in regards to things that have been out for a bit… 🙄

Like they’ve said before, they are trying to train new people (including me) to paint, cast, make molds, and do all the odds and ends of running the factory. Each piece – from casting to finish – has it’s own quirks and problems, and it helps us to learn about those quirks in our training – It’s experience pure and simple. So It’s in our benefit to know how to do everything that is currently being run, if only so we can apply that knowledge and experience in the future.
Limited production pieces and one-of-a-kinds of course are exemptions to this rule. Those may be discontinued at any time.
February 19, 2008 at 6:17 am #666597Well, I’m glad no sculpts will be retired any time soon. Even though it’s a bit disconcerting to see that the Hatching Emp isn’t even listed in the store anymore. Didn’t Melody say he was done for good?
February 19, 2008 at 6:48 pm #666598Hehe-I found one for 47.75 which includes shipping. So, I am excited to put it in the nursery when it is finished! 😀 Thanks for all of your links!
