The fires down south have pretty much stopped transport of the new ponies. Hopefully they’ll arrive by next week.
The transporters are on evacuation notice. I feel so bad for them because they have over 100 animals of their own to worry about.
I told them not to worry about picking the ponies up until they are sure everything is ok with their home. These fires are surreal. It must have been arson to have so many start in one area at one time.

Oh, I’m in San Jose. The ponies are in Socal so I can’t get them hauled until the freways open up and the fires are under control more.
I’m praying that the hauler’s home will be okay as they have over 100 animals to worry about.

I hope your ponies stay safe!!

Some of them were definitely set by arsonists, they’ve confirmed that. I think the two near out town right now were arson…they started at 4:30 last night with no other fires near, and as far as I know, no downed power lines… 😕

What is WRONG with people? Some of the fires were set by arson? 😯 I’m on the east coast and even I’ve heard how horrible the conditions are (dry conditions, high temps, the winds) and I can’t believe anyone would be so STUPID as to set the fires. Ok, I can believe it – I just don’t want to.

Hope all the animals stay safe.

And if they catch the people responsible (and they probably won’t – arson is a very difficult crime to prove) I hope they roast them over a slowly burning fire. When I think of all the wildlife killed not to mention the firefighters who are in danger and people’s homes….

If they catch them, I’m sure they’ll serve time. That and they will be responsible for the costs of fighting the fires. I’m not sure if they’ve ever actually recieved money from an arsonist, but I know they do hold them responsible to some extent.

The big fire we had here last month was started by a guy burning his garbage in a barrel. I think the cost went to over 3 million and they sent him the bill.

They are beautiful horses, I hope they get to their new home soon and all the fires are contained.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a terrorist attack 🙁
