Near the entrance, with the rain drops on the feathers
Toucan!
Don’t know the name…
Pelicans
Pink flamingos
Notice the yellow feet on the one in the background
Pretty duck
That one’s camera shy
The funny thing was to see them in the trees. Same for the ducks.
White pelicans
And another type of toucan, though that one kept on moving quite a bit!

A Keel billed Toucan and a Yellow tailed Oriole. I can’t tell what the other toucan is from that view. I have a pretty educated guess, but I’d need to see the head from the side to be sure.
Very nice pictures!
February 3, 2009 at 3:13 am #750626The last toucan reminds me of the Red-Breasted Toucan but if the beak is black then I’m not sure. π
No actualy I think I found it!
Collared Aracaris :
OR
Black Neck Aracari

And I’m sorry to disagree but that oreole is a Altamira Oriole: it is more orange and has more black on the wings and black tail where as the Yellow tailed Oriole has some yellow on the tail and is overall yellow instaid of orangy.

They also nest in trees π

You’re right. I got the name for the picture of one listed on the web page for the bird sanctuary! π I’m at work and didn’t think to have to double check it with Cornell’s bird site. π³ Didn’t read the little sentence about the tail being all black on all the orangey and yellowy orioles, EXCEPT for yellow-tailed orioles. This one has a black tail. My bad. Thanks for the correction BDW! π
February 3, 2009 at 9:49 pm #750629They have a website???
π I didn’t think to check!
I honestly can’t say which one of the toucans it was, since it moved so much. Thanks for finding the pics!
