Dragonflage. The art of camouflaging incoming dragons (I’m pretty sure this includes griffins, unicorns, etc.) This term came about after my husband finally noticed the Koi Dragon that I got 2 weeks ago. 😆 (Should I point out the crouching griffin chick and the BG curl that arrived Thursday?) So, how many of you practice the art of Dragonflage?

April 15, 2007 at 1:56 am #562210😆 Yeah, but now we have a name for it.
April 15, 2007 at 2:22 am #562211I practice it quite a bit. It even helps to rearrange your collection fairly frequently so that when they notice something new you can say that it has been there and they are just noticing it due to it being moved. 😀 I’m not really lying. By the point the new piece has been noticed it has been there at least a few days to a few weeks prior.
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
April 15, 2007 at 2:31 am #562212A perfect example of Dragonflage. 😆
April 15, 2007 at 3:38 am #562213😆 I mostly don’t have to do dragonflage because I live alone. But once in a while, when my dad comes to visit I just don’t have a choice…
“What? This one? No it’s not new, I had it last time you visited…”
And since he is forgetful, I mostly get away with it 😉
He’s pretty good about the whole situation though… I know he disaproves of spending money on “frivolous things”, but he usually doesn’t say anything about it. He only cracked once about the dragons in fact, when I told him I got my job transfer and that I had to buy a car he responded with: “I bet you’d already have a car if you didn’t buy so many dragons!” 😆
April 15, 2007 at 3:59 am #562214Oh yeah, we dragonflage! 8)
The stepfather, he does not, how shall I put it? Appreciate packages arriving at the door that do not have his name on them. Jealous, you know. 😉
Very good term!
April 15, 2007 at 4:08 am #562215I’m afraid I don’t. I put the new ones right at the front of my curio! But then my boyfriend has usually heard a series of “Oh! It’s a hatching kinglet for sale, and I don’t have that one! I shouldn’t… but… hmmm… maybe…” and then “Well, guess what I just bought?” followed by “Yay, my kinglet is coming today! Time to clear a place for it!” and lastly “GLEE! He came! Look, isn’t he pretty? Here, pet the dragon! He’s so cute!”
I get a lot of eye rolling from him, but he always says, so long as it’s my money I’m spending, he doesn’t care.

😆 That’s great!
April 15, 2007 at 4:37 am #562217I don’t do dragonflage. I can’t. My little brother asks me every week whether I’ll be getting a box with dragons in it soon. And he’s as excited as me when they come.
April 15, 2007 at 6:07 am #562218SOmetimes I practice it but mostly I just get rolled eyes and dirty looks from my parents when a Box arrives. Maybe I’ll be practicing it morre now that I know there is a good store here in town! 😀
April 15, 2007 at 6:15 am #562219Oh man… when I was younger my mom hated my “wasting” money on stuff like candy. So when I got back from buying something I’d go around the house to my bedroom window and put whatever I’d bought in through the window before coming in the front door, so she wouldn’t see me holding more candy and give me a lecture about wasting my money! Is your bedroom on the ground floor? *grin*
April 15, 2007 at 2:18 pm #562220This reminds of something that my dad used to do. My mom used to get mad at him when he bought stereo equipment (he was always getting more bits and pieces), so he used to hide the stuff in the garage when he got it. Then he would wait until my mom went out somewhere to sneak it upstairs and put it with the rest so that she wouldn’t notice. It generally worked pretty well…except for the time he did that with two huge speakers that were so big that it took both him and my older brother to carry upstairs…
April 15, 2007 at 3:11 pm #562221I dont hide it either. Im not married, so I dont really have to discuss purchases w/anyone. What is the term for lying about the cost, though?
