Thanks for pointing out the test paints on the blog. I missed that one… Anyway, I really like both colors. I wasn’t sure I’d like the blue, but I really do. And the patina’d copper…LOVE. Would love it better with antiquing, I think. I like the idea of that copper green as a live dragon color rather than a dragon statue color. And I think it would look incredible on the OW.

Hmmm. Having seen the Sapphire… it seems too uniform a blue, to me. Blue sapphires range from the color on the dragon to nearly black; I was picturing something with more variety of blues, and more yellow/gold than orange. More like the Ocean Blue, with the sandy/gold edges and patches, and the yellow eyes.

Haha, I just made a post almost exactly like this, without having seen yours. 🙂 I agree, I prefer Ocean Blue to the Sapphire test paint — I’d be willing to pay for the former, but the Sapphire just doesn’t draw me.

I liked the sapphire, but I think I’d like it more with silver/white/pearl than with gold/yellow/orange. Or maybe more yellow than orange, that’s what made it similar to the amethyst.
I almost really like the leaf sconce oriental, but it didn’t look antiqued to me and that bugged. I’d prefer the colors darker/richer also. Loved the brown eyes!
