I’m loving the color on the oriental. I’m loving it especially since I suggested Leafy Cat Sconce colors for dragons a while ago. I’d like him better if he had a bit more green on him though π³ . It would be great if they can salvage some of the casting rejects.
The Fledgie is very pretty, but I would have preferred a blue to white transition for the sapphire color. Like the Twilight color, or maybe like the Ocean Blue. Not crazy about the orange on him. That’s just me, though…September 16, 2009 at 4:37 pm #783680purpleturtle wrote:I’m loving the color on the oriental. That’s just me, though…I noticed the green showed up more on my monitor at home than on my work pc–I hope the ‘more green’ view is what the oriential really looks like! π And I’d love to see that color tried on other dragons! It seems quite natural and elegant at once.
September 16, 2009 at 6:17 pm #783681Yeah – I think it may be how my monitor shows him, but the oriental does have quite a bit more green than I noticed from the first time. I also noticed that he has dark brown eyes. I’d love to see more Leafy colored dragons with brown eyes. I don’t think I have ever seen a brown-eyed dragon from Windstone before  .
September 16, 2009 at 6:19 pm #783682Aside from possibly some test paints and the PYOs I don’t think Windstone has ever offered a brown eyed dragon.

It would sure be nice to see some! π Anything but more blue! π π
September 16, 2009 at 9:22 pm #783684I want a RED oriental. π

Did they ever make the regular oriental dragon in Ruby? I can’t remember. I never liked the regular Ruby dragons, but I think the oriental dragons look great in that color. I wish I could find a Ruby Sun Dragon to add to my collection….

Nope, that’s why I want one. >.> Red seems to be a troublesome color for them, though. = I wonder if that’s why there hasn’t been a red regular oriental yet.

They only show the Sun Dragon in Ruby in the Ravenheart database and Astral Castle’s Encyclopedia, so I guess not. π
September 17, 2009 at 2:08 am #783688I don’t care for the Sapphire Fledgie color, and I usually like every Fledgling that comes out. Way too blue for me.
On the other hand, the Copper Patina color on the Oriental is really lovely and so soft looking. I think I would prefer just a bit deeper green or maybe a little more of it though. It is quite different, and I like it. π

No, I hadn’t! Thanks, Adaneth.
Also, good idea with the brown eyes, Pegasi. They’re natural enough to fit with quite a variety of color schemes, I’d say.September 17, 2009 at 7:32 am #783690Ooooh…I love the Oriental! π Perfection at last for those “pin holed” sculpts!
Ok, so I really love the Fledge sculpt…But, I really don’t like the orangy-pink on this guy (To close to the Amethyst coloration maybe? )…I love the blue, and I am not a blue fan, and I love the purples…I like the gold idea, but I can’t seem to get my head around the warm colors…Maybe change the chest plate to the pale golden color and omit the warm colors from the wings, and fade from the blue to purple to the gold to match the chest? Or maybe change the golds to silvers like the ones you used on the silver dragons? Now, that would be a change…Silver…Yummy… squeek*
Now, remember, these are all just ideas that my mind came up with, last say is by those who paint. πSeptember 17, 2009 at 1:54 pm #783691The Casting Demons might hopefully smile on a PINK production color??? Those of us who actually like the pinks but cannot afford the limited versions could actually collect the precious pinkys, affordably??? Or even more PINK raffle prizes in the dragon sculps???? Those who do not like the color, maybe will gracefully bow out for those who do like the color???? Optimism, glass half full kind of thing…sighs and wonders about the possibility of owning a PEARLY PINK OR OTHER PINK WINDSTONE DRAGON…as always, Forcing myself to stay lost in the beautiful (PINK) things by consistently side stepping reality squeek*

*points* See! I’m not the only one who is for anything but blue eyes! XDSeptember 18, 2009 at 1:26 am #783693I like the sapphire blue fledge! And I like that color on the oriental–Meldoy said it was like the cat leaf scone and I like that as well. I’m not too much on orientals, but wouldn’t mind seeing this color on other dragons! Oh the possibilitites! Now the bengal design on the oriental–I’m not quite sure what to think–part of me likes it and the other part is eh. But it’s exciting to see these new colors come about! π
