        Such a debate.

I’m a very private person. When I sign my windstone pyos I only sign my first name with the first initial. Do people consider this hiding my name or just how I sign stuff? I don’t like my name being around, especially on the internet. Perhaps this painter feels the same way. Also, “P.S.” is indeed, a signature. These sculptures do have the painters signature on them.

I only have two ebay pieces, both by Melody. Did I buy them for the artist or signature? No. I bought them for the piece itself. After all, I don’t display my windstones toppled over so the signature is visable.

Also, I may be alone on this, but when I read the auctions my eyes didn’t even flinch when I saw “a windstone painter” or whatever it said. It didn’t even faze me. Not a bit. I can’t recall even putting a thought to it.

Also about John signing coas… the coas are to say “this piece is official”. That’s really all they’re for.

Well…after reading some more here, and of course finding out the painter wishes to stay anonymous…Windstone can simply fix the problem by putting “Painted here at the Windstone Factory by our painter, P.S.” and the whole issue is really taken care of.

Technically in that case credit is being given, with the artist signing the piece in their chosen way. Is it the most common way?…No, but there’s nothing wrong with signing a piece differently.

A friend of mine marks all her work with a symbol, sometimes without initials at all. Is it still signed? Yes, just not in the most common fashion.

Initials are an identifier, and perhaps the mystery of them being simply “P.S.” can become a marketing advantage.

“The Windstone P.S. painter.” ~grin~ has a certain ring to it!

Oh wow.. I think I just figured out who this is, totally by accident >< No, I won't tell you! If I'm right, it's fairly obvious though 😛

Aw, I’ll have to see if I can figure it out.

One thought I had (about the process, not the painter identity) is that if Pam can get someone else to paint ebay pieces, maybe that can free up some time for Melody to sculpt instead of just painting.

And I know we’re ALL in favor of Melody sculpting time! 🙂

So rock on P.S.! Your pieces are very pretty and maybe we’ll get some new sculpts out of it eventually too! 🙂

I should revise my comment since I don’t want to come across as condescending to people who may not read the forums as much as I do (yeah, I read a lot! XD) – it was more of an “OH! That’s gotta be it!” type of obvious once I connected the dots, and may not be as obvious to people that only frequent some boards on the forum 🙂

And again, I could be quite wrong! This is just a big ole hunch.

Her full initials are P.M.S., but that looked funny.
She opted to only use P.S.

Oh no, now those are initials I’d rather not have lol.
