I’m so out of it that I also did not realize what had happend to your Princess sorry about that
June 15, 2009 at 11:32 pm #769894Its ok. I am looking for her and have filled out a lost report and posted ads everywhere… to include CL. I am now counting on the fact that most people suck and they will eventually dump her somewhere anyway. Its only a matter of time. The HS is still an option DM. When you turn in an animal, you get first dibs on keeping her and they do all the medical stuff. 🙂 Do you think you might do that? It will take a little while, but its cheaper and you are not paying for something that was not really your responsibility. Nice of you to take her in though. There are so many homeless cats around. Its so sad. We counted 11 outside the ER last night. All feral. 🙁
June 16, 2009 at 4:21 pm #769895People that get cats then dump them need to burn in H E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS!!!
after giving it some time I have decided that the HOA is just going to have to deal with 5 cats in here. I could not stop thinking about her and already have her name picked out as long as the vet later today does in fact confirm I have a SHE (which I already know I do, I tried so look but on her it’s difficult to tell for sure)
Her name will be Sarabi it was Simba’s mothers name in the Lion King movies and so far all my kids are named after Lion King Lions
My oldest is Kiara then Kovu then Simba and Nala an EXACTLY backwards from the family order in the movies.
Mufasa and Sarabi have Simba who falls in love with Nala they have Kiara who then falls in love with Kovu in the Lion King 2
so after you come up with a name they belong to you!!!
Her 1st visit today will be $78 and a friend from work gave me $20 to help out. I have to talk to the vet today about her BIG OPERATION!!! The humane society was giving out vouchers but ran out of money for that and then recommended my current vet to me for a GREAT vet. I told them I was already taking my current ones there
and Ski I just checked CL again too just in case still only people trying to get rid of cats and kittensJune 16, 2009 at 4:43 pm #769896I hope you find Princess, Ski!
June 16, 2009 at 5:05 pm #769897People on this forum are AMAZING!!!
I just got a PM offer for a small Paypal donation from another member to help pay for Sarabi’s first vet visit, it’s not a HUGE amount but EVERYHING is appreciated in these tough times. I was TOTALLY shocked by this!! I shouldn’t be since I know the character of the people here but it caught me by complete surprise
You know who you are and I can’t thank you enough for you generousity!!June 16, 2009 at 7:46 pm #769898I took the kitty to the vet and she was micorchipped and the vet found the owner and called her.
I told her that if she is not claimed I want a call to let me know
Why do people do this to pets???
Let them run around like animals??June 16, 2009 at 7:50 pm #769899She might have just slipped out. My Boo sneaks out every chance he gets. It’s really hard to keep him inside, and I try because he’s my favorite and I have coyotes.
Looking for Blue Fawn Baby Kirin
Sanguine Oriental Test Paints, kinglet
Sun Dragon Koi #3June 16, 2009 at 8:06 pm #769900*nods* Cookie will slip out if he can, too. He only goes as far as the front porch, though. We really have to keep both eyes on him when going in and out.
I’m sure you’re disappointed DM, but maybe you’ll really be making someone’s day when they get the phone call that their kitty was found.
June 16, 2009 at 8:33 pm #769901If she’s microchipped, she must mean something to somebody–I hope the owner is delighted. 🙂
June 16, 2009 at 9:03 pm #769902Aww, I’m SO glad kitty was microchipped! Both of mine are, and both are strictly indoors. Cats can slip out though no matter how careful you are, one evening several years ago in a freak mishap, Sneezer was laying in the window and the screen popped out-even though both he and Callie had used that same window for years with no issue. He was probably outside all night long, and THANKFULLY, he just went under my steps and hid until I came looking for him. I would have been heartbroken if someone had taken him in without checking to see if he was chipped. I know you were starting to get attatched to this little girl, but I’m sure the owners were probably frantic looking for her.
Several years ago I had an extremely friendly cat show up one afternoon, it was in the summer so I put some water and food out, and a bed 😳 anyway, he hopped right in for a nap while I started calling around. Got a call later in the afternoon that his family had been found. Apparently he lived 4 streets away, and had been missing for 3 weeks! The family was thilled to finally find him, come to find out they had had him for 16 years!
June 16, 2009 at 9:12 pm #769903Funny how these escapees know which houses have suckers (said in the nicest way), I mean pet lovers living in them! 😆 We’ve vetted and brought in two cats, plus rehomed a litter of kittens that showed up in our backyard. We also have some ferals that show up. We’ve put out food in the hopes of TNR them, but they are well fed and don’t take the bait. We heard that there is a lady down the street that cares for them.

Let them run around like animals??Uhhh… because they are animals? My cats are outside/inside cats. Bacchus took off for two weeks one time. He came back thin, dirty, looking awful. Does that make me a bad pet owner? Cats are classified as wild animals anyway, arent they? But still… I am glad they found the cats owner. Who knows how the cat got lost or how long it had been lost before you found her. Someone may have even found her before you did and decided to keep her, kind of like you did, but they didnt treat her that good. I just think you shouldnt judge an owner w/o knowing the story… esp if they cared enough to get the cat chipped. :nea:
June 16, 2009 at 10:55 pm #769905Ski I hope you find Princess it is very hard to have a pet disappear and not knowing what happened to them makes it worse.

Thanks girl. Maybe thats why the idea of someone finding a pet and just keeping it kinda bugs me. Sorry DM. Like a pet has never slipped a leash before? Someone has to have her somewhere… or someone has to have at least SEEN her. 🙁
June 16, 2009 at 11:14 pm #769907Id never let my cat’s outdoors unless I had a HUGE fence so they couldn’t get out of the yard. My sister lost so many to tragic accidents that all would never have happened is she just kept them indoors. Lot’s of cars, some other animals, and even sick people…
Accidents happen though. Maybe he escaped accidentally. Hopefully that’s the case.
