It’s really too bad that the paper towel patern is seen from the side, if it wasn’t then I’d just leave it as is. It’s really interesting actually. But, it did manage to pull all the paint off, all the way to the gypsum.

My new kirin Harvest. It was going to be done with burnt orange but, I can’t find it anywhere. I know I had a tube, oh well. This one is actually based on the Harvest Moon. I love the red moons in the fall (even if they mean really windy days…) For the scales I kind of based them on harvest colours. I’m still not happy with this one, but, it basically painted itself.

These pictures were taken before I antiqued the scales. So imagine them with really dark brown edges. Plus they are horrible pictures. It was overcast most of the time. The sun didn’t start coming out until after I sent it away.

What colors did you use for the scales? They’re gorgeous!

The brown on the scales is layered. I used an almost black brown as a base then maple syrup on top. Or did I use something in between? I can’t remember.

But, the rest of the scales are, interference gold, irridesent copper, interference green, and interference red. (I think there was something else too, um irridesent bronze? But, it looked to much like the gold.)
