I love the new version of the copper patina, however Im not the hugest fan of the male and mother molds. Will you be doing any cast defect Emperors or OWs in this new russet copper patina with teal eyes? Love the color, I’d just like to see it on different dragons.
May 19, 2011 at 9:11 pm #845819We’ve got one Emperor test painted in Copper patina. He looks great.
We don’t have any bad Emp castings that could be used for copper patina, so we haven’t done any others.May 19, 2011 at 9:13 pm #845820And there will be some more, but not a lot at a time.
May 19, 2011 at 9:45 pm #845823Does it HAVE to be a bad casting to paint it copper patina? This v 2.0 copper patina is pretty enough to hold its own on even a good casting (; Please post pics of the test-painted Emp? (and PLEASE paint more for the store in the future-ish)
May 19, 2011 at 11:50 pm #845830I agree. I don’t own any copper patina dragons. The color never really did anything for me, but this new version with the violet accents is absolutely gorgeous! I plan on adding a few pieces to my collection once I move (hopefully… lol). I think the color is definitely drool-worthy to paint on some good casting… unless it’s the defects that go hand-in-hand with this color. Then I understand (bummer though). 🙂
May 20, 2011 at 1:46 am #845840I’d love to see some OWs in the store painted this new version of this color someday. I died a little every time they hit ebay in the original Copper Patina, but this updated color is so much prettier and dynamic. The Teal eyes are a must to. Purty Please :3
May 20, 2011 at 5:32 am #845852Oh, I guess they don’t have to be bad castings!
May 20, 2011 at 7:18 pm #845861I like the copper patina with teal eyes. I’d have to see it on the sculpt to decide if I’d want it, though. I find that while I like the color, it doesn’t suit all the sculpts.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

May 21, 2011 at 6:15 am #845929Yes I hated the original patina but these new ones…. I might have to get an Ow
May 21, 2011 at 5:24 pm #845956I also love the new version of Copper Patina. I liked the old one, but I LOVE the new one! I also thought of Autumn Leaf when I first saw it. It’s gorgeous!! Please please, pretty please make a larger batch of these?

Please visit My Webpage to see my art and PYO's that I've done in the past!May 24, 2011 at 10:10 pm #846178Batch size depends on how many bad pieces we get, since the point is to rescue pieces that would otherwise need to be thrown out.
I hate to start using good pieces for Copper Patina when we need so many other colors painted for the store! However, casting is working pretty well now so the rescue pieces are getting rarer!
We will have a batch of Copper Patina Fledgelings and a few hatchlings soon.May 24, 2011 at 10:20 pm #846184We will have a batch of Copper Patina Fledgelings and a few hatchlings soon.
soon like today? this week? or later? I’ve been haunting the forum and shop hoping I don’t miss anything =/
May 28, 2011 at 7:41 pm #846546I am not intentionally being vague about when anything will go in the store… I really never know!
The pieces may be sitting in the finishing department and it will look like they will get finished soon, but then.. oops we are out of the right color eyes, and whoops! the finish on these needs to be redone, and oops! not enough horns!
This is what our days consist of.
I need to re-do the finish on the Amethyst Warriors, and many of the silver ones needed attention also -so they MAY
get packed and put in the store today -or, if not, then next week.Susie usually knows more than me about store stuff.

I understand! It’s quite the involved process! 😀
Thank you for being so understanding of our excitement.
