Sorry to ask to many questions :puzzled: but I’m wondering if any of the new color of copper patina dragons will be getting a heavier coating of patina? Personally I liked how the version 1 of the copper patina was more like a shiny new penny in parts, and like the statue of Liberty in others. Not that my opinion is, by any means a majority, (in fact I might be in the minority) but I think the new version looks a little too monochrome without the green of the patina. Wondering if you were satisfied with the new color, and which version other people like

For me i prefer the 2nd version SO much better than the 1st. I purchased the curlie and the young oriental in the 1st version and really didnt like them. So i gave them to my mom. I havent yet bought any of the new version but from the pixs i really like them better. I also like the fact that more of the violet interference was used too.

The amount of violet interference is variable on the new copper patina pieces. I have one of the new CP males and he has almost no violet on him.

I love the newer versions of the copper patina. I looooooove Copper. I like the newer versions with less of the patina and more of the violet.

We are experimenting on almost every one. I think they look wonderful now, and I liked the “old” patinas too.
We will make them the way you like, as much as possible! More violet we can do.
… both more AND less patina? That’s trickier!

                #849803

So… both more AND less patina, and more violet.

LOL yeah that sounds like the vote. I like having some with more patina and some with less patina, makes the family more varied and more surprising

I love all of them and am waiting and hopping there are more Hatching Empress in that color. Add EDmperor to that I missed both of therm.

                    Ignoring the spam…

I’m one for a moderate amount of patina. I find the new version doesn’t have quite enough, but some of the first version had too much. And it depends on the sculpt – the bigger ones can take more patina than the smaller ones, I think. I was so ready to get an OW or an Emp in copper patina!

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

                      THIS!

I too like a medium amount of patina; enough that there is serious green on there, but not as much as the first version. As for the violet accents, I could take or leave them.

A restock of CP emperors with more patina would blow my mind!

I would love to see some CP OW dragons in the store as soon as they can get the horn issue resolved. I personally liked the violet accents. I also liked how the patina antiquing was ‘controlled’ on some of the sculpts. For example, an effort was made to accent the chest scales on a CP fledgling i had. It looked like his chest was greener than the rest of him. He was one of the first CPs, but I’ve noticed the newer ones seem to have a more uniform coating. Did that make any sense?
Anyways – CP OWs with (with teal eyes) would be lovely someday :).

While I do understand that this scheme was created to rescue less than perfect castings, to tell you the truth, I would really LOVE a pure copper color scheme, no patina, maybe gold highlights or something like that.

                          Yes yes yes!

(Although I’ve now fallen for the Toasted Pearl as well–enough copper to soothe my copper craving soul, and no patina. Too bad the only thing I’ve seen it on is a curlie, and like everything else I want, it’s not available. Can’t I fall for a production color scheme just once?)

Meanwhile, count me in the “less patina is better” category.

See the siggy above me ^

Like that! Less patina, more of the copper and lavender. WAY WAY more flattering on these sculptures. I don’t mind the patina, but I HATE it when it’s all over the piece. I’ve sold off all mine except my oriental and my sitting spectral because they didn’t have a lot of patina on them. They look WAY WAY better!

                            Got a busted Windstone?

I’ll third less patina. more violet. My entire CP collection are this type. Emp, oriental, young oriental, hatching emp and empress, male. All of them have a lot of flattering violet accents and just the barest patina in the crevices, with a really STRONG copper color that makes them look like theyre made of metal.
