Congrats… FORD is better…
We bought a Ford Fusion last year for a steal! And it is pretty good on gas. With the gas prices we are thinking about getting a bike for the hubby so he can take it to work durning the warm months. Gas prices are freakin STUPID!
I’ll still have the Honda when you are on your 3rd Ford!!
Hondas are the BEST cars out there.
My mom had a Civic for 20 years and finally gave it to my cousin when she bought a newer car and it was still running with like 150,000 miles on itThanks EVERYONE!!
This car is amazing and was a needle in the haystack find. I’m VERY happy with my new carI had a 74 FORD Maverick THAT was my grandmothers car (that she bought in 76) for 6 years (I sold it in 1999)… AND I still see it going around town to this day! I had an 87 FORD Bronco II 4×4 for 9 years and sold it because I couldn’t handle the upkeep on two trucks… I just bought my 93 FORD Bronco Full size 4×4 then. I have had her for 3 years and she runs GREAT! Now we have a 06 FORD Fusion which runs nice and does wonderful on gas.
The only reason people buy new fords is to upgrade! π π

February 26, 2008 at 5:50 am #669750Congrats on the new Honda Civic DM!!! Hondas are excellent cars and my father and I will vouch for that!
Fords on the other hand…..
Every single one of them that my family has owned has been a curse. The first one my family owned actually stalled on the train tracks in front of an oncoming train when my father first drove it. He told me that he should have known then, but that his mother needed the money, so he bought it. I could write pages about what it did while we owned it. Then, my brother was fortunate/unfortunate enough to win a Ford Focus. In this case it’s not the car that’s really bad, but the Ford dealership. They can’t seem to or don’t want to properly service the car like they should. He pays them three times what I pay for the same service on my Honda. They once released it to him with bad brakes saying that they were good. My brother started hearing loud grinding noises and pulled over and got out just in time. When the tow truck came, all of his brakes, even the emergency ones, failed. Ford came back and tried to blame it on him.February 26, 2008 at 5:59 am #669751I owned a 1995 Ford Ranger….it was a great truck and didn’t really break down. I did have to replace the clutch 2 times and the signal kept on going off to say that the door was open. But it definately is a good thing to have a good dealership to fix it. I didn’t ever go back to the service department that I bought the truck from. They tried to over charge me on repairs and did work that I didn’t want done. I am a Dodge family now. π

February 26, 2008 at 6:12 am #669753JEEP JEEP JEEP!!!
π π π
I’ve been a Jeep fan since before I got my License, which was also before anyone in my family had ever owned one.My Uncle got his “Classic” Jeep (They keep changing it’s “Name” so often I just call it “Classic” or “Jeep Jeep”) in ’99, My other uncle got his Cherokee in ’97 Both brand new, I got my ’89 Cherokee in 2005, and My aunt got her Brand new Cherokee 1 month later. My Uncle had to sell his Classic 3 years ago when he needed a better “Family” Vehicle, and the “Classic” only just got the “Extended cab” version out last year or the year before. My Other Uncle just sold his Cherokee because he’d had a 2 door and his daughter was having too much difficulty getting in and out, also he’d (Actually his Ex-) had 5 accidents in it, and just didn’t want to get it repaired again. I Love my Baby, even when I get a new vehicle we plan on keeping her and finishing her restorations. and my aunt still has her Cherokee, usually she gets a new vehicle every 18 months, but she really loves her Cherokee.
Plan for next “Family vehicle” is Extended cab “Classic” Jeep. Though we’ll probably just get a nasty little Smart Car for driving to and from work(Mostly for Male), just because it theoretically gets better mileage, and takes up less room, but man neither of us wants to be in even a near miss in that thing!! π― π― π― CRUNCH!!!February 26, 2008 at 3:08 pm #669754Serenity wrote:Dragon Master wrote:Serenity wrote:Congrats… FORD is better…

Sound to me like they are using the wrong tools in the wrong places. If Chopsticks will get me 20 years out of a car like my mom got sign me up!!! -
