My Female Canary had a chick this morning. Just the one, the other eggs are not fertile. I hope he will survive and that the father was my orange canary not the other one.

How cool is that! It’s rare to have sucessful breeding isn’t it? I know it’s possible, but when I’ve had male/female pairings of finches, it never panned out, not that I was trying or anything, but you would have thought something would happen.

        Congrats, you’re a grandparent! LOL!

What are the chances of survival? I know some birds like parakeets are pretty prolific. Are canaries the same?

cute little chicken, needs no plucking, but too small (sorry couldn’t resist) 😆 why do you say that they aren’t fertile, there can be two days between hatches of eggs ( at least for budgeligars )
