Yes, I have bought from Bt’s and I would again. But also it really isn’t fair. Not to go after everything that is retired anyway. It isn’t harming the retailer’s sales so it keeps more of them open, and willing to carry the new productions. But also we as collectors can’t always afford to spend so much on some of the items. I am quite sure that you have a few that everyone wants and even a few more than a few that are/have been on my want list. Like I said, I would buy again and again from you for mint retireds, your packing is wonderful! But, I can only buy what I can afford. That is the hard part… 🙁
March 3, 2007 at 3:18 am #546724Dragonkeeper, you are one of very, very few sellers that I have bought Windstones from that is honest about the conditions of the pieces and can get them to me without damage. Thank you!
Now, hopefully, I won’t get ripped for saying this…
I don’t think that there is anything wrong with BT buying a retired piece for resale if he gets to it first. I have seen a lot of forum members do the same thing with limited production pieces. (I am still waiting to see if there will be more russet curled dragons. They were gone before I even came home from work!) I personally won’t go and buy peices for resale because I really not running a business or trying to make money off of them. I’m just a collector. However, I do understand that other people are. I’m more than happy to post about Windstone finds when I find them, but after that, I think that it’s just first come first served.
Please understand that this is my opinion and I do not mean to offend anyone at all.
March 3, 2007 at 3:19 am #546725I would assume that theres still a ton of goodies out there, for anyone who works their tail off or just gets lucky. I’ve been hacking away at it for 10 yrs. Anything that I have found, I found on my own. I do not and will not buy anything that someone on the forum found or wants and snag it from them. As for “tscultures,” I was not aware that anything was on hold for anybody or that anyone else was interested in the pieces that I purchased. I do not think it is right or fare to buy something that someone on the forum already found for themselves.
March 3, 2007 at 3:21 am #546726wow! i missed alot in the past couple hours! lol! and of course let me say i was not voicing any nasty attacks against you folks, BT. its all a free market, TOTALLY! anyone at any time has the right to buy any darn thing at any time from anywhere- there are no windstone police , its life. heck, just like you said YOU ARE PROVIDING A NO B.S. SERVICE, PROVIDING PERFECT PIECES WITH NO EFFORT FOR THE BUYER! that is a LUXURY!!!!! and you charge to compensate for the massive amount of labor and loss involved! i can only imagine, just like you said, all the pieces that broke in shipping, or were broken to begin with and it wasn’t disclosed to you, its a huge loss or your end. if i REALLY wanted something badly and i wanted it perfect, of course, i would come to you guys, no problem, for your have an incredible reputation! 😀 if you buy something from a shop, u have nothing to go on but their word that its in good shape, but they aren’t into windstones, so they don’t have the “eye” for and damage, like flea bites, or rub offs of paint on toenails. you guys are incredibly honest on reporting a micro blips if they dare come up with your stuff, which i think i only saw twice. anyhoo, you guys do all the work for someone who wants rare pieces and you handle all the baloney to provide a mint piece. its all good.i would feel total peace of mind buying from you if i was looking for that particular something.thats worth alot!
me, yeah i was sad for a few that i lost my coiled the other day, cuz i love a bargain, but hey i’ll live, its common enough, there are plenty of other pieces i like out there too.it was a bargain, thats it. 🙂 i would mention that, just like you said, i just got a couple pieces today from a shop and they had massive damage undisclosed to me, leaving me ho hum about both the piece and the seller, so that is a perfect example of what the service you provide bypasses. at this point i would have paid extra to not get the mess i got today! lol!
warm n fuzzy thoughts everyone, cuz there are plenty of other folks out to snap great pieces up too, at least thru bt we have a second chance at em! lol! my biggest loss was an emerald sun dragon for 157 bought by a walk in customer, not a person on the phone.everyones out for da good stuff! thank you bt for offering a no-baloney chance at perfect pieces!:)March 3, 2007 at 3:42 am #546727Heres why it gets weird—— We were going along doing our thing, selling tons of windstones to “blank faces” and we were happy. Making money and the customers “blank faces” seemed ecstatic that they had found a trusted person to buy their babies from. Then probably in November or so we noticed this forum. It soon became clear that the “blank Faces” were you guys– and i said uh oh. The forum made you become really nice interesting people whom were extraordinarily passionate about windstones. I also noticed that a true windstoner loved a bargain, and was obviously savy enough not want to pay 200 for a piece they could find or win for 60. I thought still the forum members based on their thoughts, made up only about 5 to 10 % of our customers- now that I’ve put ebay names together with forum names the percent is much higher. Now through reading the forum I sort of feel like I know many of you and there you get the weird part-I feel like I’m overcharging my friends, which is why I wanted to stay away. You can see my quandry- having a busines strategy that doesn’t exactly fit the idea pattern of the avg Windstoner-except the cool looking store
March 3, 2007 at 3:42 am #546728its alllllllllllllllll good bt! again i had no real hold on anything. no money was exchanged or anything like that. the peeps knew i had hopes for certain pieces, that i would call in two days with money, but they did not set them aside for me, nor did i tell them to as i am on a tight budget and if my funds fell thru i did not want them out money if someone else came along and wanted it. its all good, you had the money before i did, and just like on ebay, someone may outbid you cuz they are willing to spend more. so be it. i’m over it. i am resouceful so i can find what i want eventually, as you said, there is PLENTY more goodies out there, even afer you and everyone else shopping around all these years!you just have to work at it a little more if you want it cheaper at a shop, but again it may be damaged for your bargain price.ya get what you pay for, most of he time.
March 3, 2007 at 3:51 am #546729I don’t THINK I really got that much out of retail stores in the past few months— again Most of my stuff came from huge collection buys-exwindstone dealers whom had the mother loads, so theres got tobe plenty more out there. Anyway isn’t half the fun finding it. Makes ya run around and do a little squirrel dance.
On a side note= talk about shipping horror stories, I can tell you stuff that would make your skin crawl. Gothic unicorns with no feet and a corkscrew for a horn, Beheaded emerald rising spectrals, Several of the mintest Emerald emperors reduced to rubble, boxis with just a set of glass eyes and dust, thousands down the toilet. Stuff that not even you guys could repair
March 3, 2007 at 3:53 am #546730well, if people want something bad enough they will pay it and again you are providing a service in finding and delivering a piece in good condition.you are not forcing anyone to buy your stuff, its their decision to buy from you and pay what u ask. if peeps find your prices too high at some point, then you’ll sense it and you may choose to lower them. no force is involved though, if someone wants something enough and if they have the money they will pay.it is in the buyers hands to use good judgement and not overspend too much and pay on the things that REALLY matter like food n shelter,it is the buyers responsibility. as i think dm said, windstones look lousy in cardboard box houses! lol!

You are MORE then Welcome here. It has been said MANY times all is fair in Love and Evil-bay. If someone is willing to pay whatever the price is more power to them and you for the sale. No one is forcing anyone to pay more then they are willing to pay. We are competing against everyone in the world for these babies and it can get heavy at times but that is just a part of life in general. I lost my first 23KT Gold Leaf Hatching Empress and the 2nd White SK but life goes on. I hope you stay with us here
March 3, 2007 at 3:55 am #546732oh yeah In my estimation theres no safe way to ship these guys. USPS, UPS, Fedex, all of them have killed many a fine windstone
But mostly its poor packing–but those banana heads don”t help.

the only real good part about this is it makes OUR mint ones even more rare!!March 3, 2007 at 3:59 am #546735my goodness im so you have the horror stories to tell! i would love to hear the sellers answers when/if you asked why the pieces looked/arrived the way they did. my bad break today was a peacock sun dragon… untold to me his whole tail was broken off and glued back on crooked,CROOKED, with epoxy no less. a huge chip was missing along the crack but thankfully its on the backside. his horn fell out and was glued back in crooked, and all his toenails were rubbed.i shrieked when i saw the tail though! i was told he only had two micro flea bites on his back. lol and hmmmph! my bf was ready to kill the guy!!
March 3, 2007 at 4:00 am #546736DM you are a wonderful, thank you, and Honestly I feel better since I aired my dirty laundry in full view, but I knew mixing bus and pleasure would not be easy.
March 3, 2007 at 4:05 am #546737well, I never meant to start a ten page debate! I was just stating an opinion and as everyone can tell, forum members are very opinionated! 😆 ! no hard feelings?
