Thanks for the response and the change in the auction and good luck with your sales Jawjacker 🙂
Of this Auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Windstone-Ki-Rin-Male-Unicorn-Excellent-Condition-/250627557451?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5a91084bA while ago, the seller had the same Ki-rin up, and it was a buy it now, he listed it as Mint. I bought it. It arrived and it had a few little fleabites/chips randomly on it. So, I asked for a refund (since for the price I paid, I wanted it MINT) He was totally accommodating and apologetic, and the refund went smooth.
But he’s listed it again in “excellent” condition without saying there’s paint missing.
Just wanted to let ya’ll know. He’s a totally nice seller though.

I have to comment on the feedback you left for them, in which you state good communication. I would have preferred to see that you returned an item for refund, very understanding or something to that effect, to let folks know that this person may see perfect in a whole different view. eBays feedback system is really flawed in that regard, when people can’t see the big picture. Just my opinion but I always state a complaint in feedback; while you can’t leave negative wording in a positive feedback you sure can say something. Also, on the other end as a seller, if I think the buyer left feedback unjustly, I make a reply to the feedback so folks can make educated decisions. It works both ways. By posting here to the forum, at least the forum members know there is a problem with the piece (if they read your post, that is LOL)
😉May 5, 2010 at 10:47 pm #813934In general there`s too little information about him. I always feel a bit sceptical about auctions like that. On ebay the best thing to do obviously is to ask a lot of questions before bidding or buying…
May 5, 2010 at 11:08 pm #813935Another problem I have with the auction is that they aren’t using photos of the actual item. Instead, they have a stock photo. I’m always weary of a Windstone auction on ebay if it’s represented that way :nea: .

Makes me think that the seller is hiding something or that he/she`s very lazy. None of the two are very positive…

My thoughts exactly  .May 6, 2010 at 1:21 am #813938Yeah…While excellent condition is sorta misleading, you can always ask for real photos of the piece, and if they don’t comply just don’t bid. It is a very short description, and does have a stock photo…But, never hurts to ask a question. The seller should be more descriptive. Personally, I would skip it. But someone may feel more compelled to buy him who doesn’t have one yet. 😉
May 6, 2010 at 2:45 am #813939I almost never bid on piece that have little or no description, and I don’t think i’ve ever bid on one with a stock photo  I figure if the person can’t take enough time to describe the condition of a collectible and go over it, its probably not someone I want to do business with in regards to handling my future pretty
May 6, 2010 at 4:12 pm #813940Hello All,
I am the seller of the Ki-Rin on eBay. Just wanted to let you know that I have updated the auction with a description of the small imperfections and some actual pictures of my piece showing the overall piece along with the imperfections. The imperfections are very small and are hard to see even in the pictures, but I have done my best to show them.
My intention was not to be dishonest or hide anything, as Leigha can tell you I readily refunded her money when she wasn’t happy with the original purchase. I was probably just a little on the lazy side. 😀 Since my piece looks exactly like the stock photo, I just used the stock photo. I am obviously not a collector. I just have no place for the Ki-Rin anymore and would like to sell it for a fair price to someone who has more use for it.
It is in great condition, so take a look at it again if you are interested now that I have updated the listing. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

May 6, 2010 at 5:40 pm #813941haha! I have been there, being lazy.
The photos should help though, I hope you get a good price for your item! 🙂May 7, 2010 at 2:34 am #813942Hi JawJacker!
That is understandable! You obviously weren’t out to take anyone for a ride as your transaction with Leigha has shown. It’s hard for a non-collector to understand what nuances collectors might look for in a piece. As with any group of die-hard collectors (of any item.. cars, Barbies, seashells, Windstones..) we are a little particular about the items we collect. 🙂 A lot of us have also had poor experiences with other, less up-front sellers and sometimes the bitterness can show through. Thank you most kindly for updating your item description and photo to help collectors know what they are getting. 🙂
Best wishes and I hope your kirin does well!

My art: featherdust.comMay 7, 2010 at 4:14 am #813943The good thing is that now that collectors can really see some photos and know the details of the small imperfections, those are really easy to fix and I know more then a handful of people on here that would want a piece like that.
I just looked at the photos and he does look absolutely great! Aside from the few minor flaws.May 7, 2010 at 9:38 pm #813944Thanks for the feedback and suggestions…much appreciated.
May 7, 2010 at 10:35 pm #813945AnonymousWho knows, maybe JawJacker will become a Windstone addict from this sale LOL Good luck to you, both selling the Kirin and getting out of the forum with money intact! haha
