P.S.- my hunny’s family on his dad’s side all live in Tobermory, we’ve driven through Wiarton too many times to count.
My aunt used to work for the cheecheemon! She lived in Lions Head. Most of my family comes from Colpoys Bay, Wiarton, and Owen Sound. One of my co-workers sons lives in Wiarton. She goes every weekend. So have you been to Colpoys Bay? It’s very beautiful.
Cool, Lorance’s mom works on the Ferry too, she’s chief steward now but she used to run the gift shop. Her name is Michelle Haynes. She’s moved to Meaford now but his Dad, Don Smith and most of his side still live in Tobermory.
I haven’t been to Colpoys Bay. I’ll have to ask about that. I love all the old Victorian houses in Wiarton but I hate to see the one on the left as you first drive in, everytime we drive through, it’s in worse and worse condition. I’d love to buy one of the houses that big, at those prices but plunk it down right in the middle of Toronto, cause I’m never going to find something that big here for a reasonable price.
Say have you ever been in Le Coffee Nog? It’s a great little coffee shop and store. It’s in Mount Forest, just past the dollar store. Lovely place. Nice owners. I love the stuff! If I wasn’t between paychecks I would have spent some serious money there. If you haven’t been I do suggest that place. And the coffee isn’t that expensive. The best part, the tables aren’t in plain view. They are tucked in alcoves. It’s great.
Colpoys Bay was just as lovely as ever. It was great seeing everyone again, even if I can’t remember who’s who anymore. The McCartney family isn’t good at getting together for anything other than funerals.
But, there just had to be one idiot. I hate people like this. This woman showed up, says she was Kens girlfriend (if they were it was more than 20 years ago 🙄 ) Starts raising a stink over a guitar! She want’s a guitar. She claimed that he has her guitar, and she want’s it back. Not a good way of going about it. Luckally for her, she didn’t approach most of the family. She probably would have been punched out by someone. Greedy little —-! 👿

Nope, never been there. Will have to check out Colpoys Bay. Probably next summer. Things are winding down up there so nothing is open. And the ferry is going into dry dock in Owen Sound next week. That is horrible about that lady. Of all the times to pick…did you get the funeral people to get her out?
October 8, 2007 at 7:52 pm #622517Actually, she wasn’t at the funeral, if she was I didn’t see her. She showed up at the Legion Hall where we were having the wake? I can’t remember what it’s called. She left on her own and didn’t make that much of a disturbance. Just not a good thing to do. You’d think if she wanted that guitar that baddly she would have retrieved it along time ago.
October 23, 2007 at 12:35 am #622518Well, I got strange news yesterday. This was something that would have helped Ken out for sure. (The news didn’t bother me yesterday, it wasn’t until I was at work today that it made me feel depressed.)
Some background, Ken was a trucker. He lived for trucking, women and entertaining. He’d entertain at the drop of a hat without even being asked. He also had his own truck. Saddly, the new lights in cars got to him. He lost his trucking licence and his truck. Then for some reason (I don’t know what happened) he lost his G licence. Well, for someone like him that was bad. That sent him into depression. I think before he lost his licence he lost his mother. (I still miss my last grandma…) So he was pretty depressed.
Well, on Friday he got his G licence back! If only he waited, this would have helped to get him out of this manic depression.
Well, I feel so much better now. I guess writing it down helps.
October 23, 2007 at 12:50 am #622519What a shame, Romeo. I guess we really never know what life has in store for us…
