π‘ AUGH!
"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom."
-J R R TolkienOctober 12, 2007 at 5:43 pm #620044Geez…what a crock. π I get those sort of emails all the time and it really gets on my nerves. π
October 12, 2007 at 5:45 pm #620045A friend of mine was new to ebay buying and she almost answered a 2nd chance offer for a camera, but before she could answer, she got a second 2nd chance offer from another person for the same camera. That clued her in really fast!!! π
October 12, 2007 at 5:50 pm #620046Unfortunately the first time we were ever sent one it was to my husband on a white male and he actually sent them the money. Needless to say they became impossible to contact afterwards… π So we had to learn the hard way… π
October 12, 2007 at 5:56 pm #620047They make them sound so realistic it’s really easy to believe them. My friend was just lucky she got two at the same time or she might’ve fallen for it. When she came into work the next day and told me about it, I gave here the “never answer a 2nd chance email” lecture. π
October 12, 2007 at 6:00 pm #620048Yeah, at least learning it the hard way ensures we’ll never forget! π

I was thinking of something similar to the way Prax was painted. Blues, greens, some white and maybe silver? I think your painting style is so different from Nam’s and Windstone’s, that it really wouldn’t look similar at all. It doesn’t look similar in my head, anyway. π
October 13, 2007 at 1:32 am #620050GB has a unique style all her own. Anything she painted would look totally different from Nam’s, but still be totally awesome!!! π

Here is the email:
Hi There,
I am the seller of “Item Number:300154894433 WINDSTONE EDITIONS NEPTUNE EMPEROR DRAGON ” ,and I’ve just been contacted by the eBay staff who informed me that the winner of the item I sold, withdrew his bidding and was rejected due to security reasons (either failed to follow through on the purchase commitment or outright refused to do so).
In compliance with eBay policy ,I offer you the item thru Second Chance Offer program at your LAST BID PRICE.
The eBay policy automatically proclaims you to be the winner by default.Nevertheless, I need your agreement on this so I may contact eBay to confirm you the winning position, otherwise I’ll relist the item.
I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I need an answer as soon as possible.Your last auctioned bid prior to being outbid is taken into consideration.
If you still interested, please email me at: l98798n@hotmail.com or reply me at this e-mail.
With Best Regards,
SincerelyGeesh, people must think I am stupid to fall for this espically since I knew Arlla won it. π But I really am looking at the humor in it.
You should send a message back thanking them for the 2nd chance offer and then inform them that not only do you know the company and artist that sold it but you know the person that won it and know he is home with his paid owner, and then inform them that they have been reporeted to E-Bay and they better not try this again

I would Yeah, I did report them. But on the email I got back from ebay they said that I shouldn’t respond to them. I am thinking cause they might be harder to catch if they have a heads up.October 13, 2007 at 4:41 am #620053lamortefille wrote:Greater Basilisk wrote:I like the idea! Would Nam allow it, though?

I’d love to try it, but I hope you’re willing to wait until next year to see it. I have five PYOs to get painted in time for Christmas, and very little time to do them…
Dragoness, that second chance offer is ridiculous. At least they made it easily recognizable as a fraud!

Even if I didn’t know that Arlla got the dragon, I would definately catch on that the email wasn’t even from Windstone Edition who I knew sold the dragon. π
October 14, 2007 at 5:13 am #620056That, and you can figure E-Bay employees will know the proper placement of commas. People just can’t write properly anymore. π
