Hi names Jenny, Ian new to the forums and I have to ask being I own two red fire dragon that are a retired color scheme. Will you be publishing a list or collection list of the retired collections and possibly the collections that will soon be retired? I would like to know because I don’t know if the Black-Violet dragons will either be retired soon or if the will be a continued product because of the release date same for the peacock and black-gold. If you could or anyone really could give me a time frame to expect when they might retire a certain color it would give me time to gather funding to purchase a few for my growing collection.

We should publish a comprehensive list of everything, with pictures and retired dates and all that, but we have never gotten around to this. That is the way we are; kinda disorganized.
I use the encyclopedia on the “astral Castle ” website to answer specific questions about when things were retired. http://astralcastle.com/windstone/wsframe.htmI have no plans to retire any dragon colors we are presently making right now, but we are making most of them in small numbers so they may be sold out frequently.
Peacock is retired, but we still make Emerald Peacock.BUT if I make new dragon sculpts, we might paint those in colors that have been retired on the other dragon sculpts.
February 18, 2012 at 5:16 pm #873899Melody, what about gold? Last time someone asked, you said you had not been painting anything in gold in a while. There are a few dragons I ‘d like to get in gold (namely the scratcher, sitting spectral, and old warrior) and I’m curious how high they need to be on my priority list of “things to get next” haha
Will this color be retired soon? I hope not!

Thanks Melody for the link though I am curious, if you could answer this question to help clear up any confusion on my end. On the main WindStone editions site they said that Red Fire is retired but on the link you sent me it say that it’s not and that it came out 2008, is this color a limited production piece or is it retired or on a back order? I am just trying to clear up the confusion in regards to the dragons published in this particular color scheme any help in this matter would be highly appreciated. Thanks again Mrs. Melody.
February 18, 2012 at 7:20 pm #873902Red Fire is retired. Astral Castle just may not have updated. They aren’t maintained by Windstone – it’s not 100% accurate, it’s just the best resource currently available.
Unless Windstone decides to make Red Fire on a new sculpt, no more Red Fire pieces will be made 🙂
February 18, 2012 at 7:41 pm #873904Thanks kiya, it’s nice to know for sure. Now I have a difficult choice to make. Weather I spend the money on a mother dragon and pay off the debit or wait until they redo the color on a new sculpt. I mean I could have a various collection of multiple colors of the dragons and slowly work my way into making a full collection of each or I could spend the money I earn in debit to get the red fire mother now. Oh I am not sure what to do…
February 18, 2012 at 8:40 pm #873907There’s no guarantee that Melody will paint red fire versions of the new sculpts. She said she _might_ bring some of the old colors back, but red fire had some issues with color stability and I don’t know if it was ever worked out.

Red fire is retired. This was because of ongoing issues with the red paint color. Too bad, I loved the color.

( A glitch of some kind put this reply before your comment, above!! We are constantly tweaking the website… odd things can happen.)February 18, 2012 at 8:51 pm #873910Okay thanks kiya and Melody. I am glad to know for sure now. And I think I know what I am going to do.

Yeah, that’s right. Red fire can’t be back on anything, unless we can get the paint issue sorted out.
February 18, 2012 at 10:07 pm #873924I thought we had it sorted out? Didn’t olimpia paint some RF things when she came to visit? And it turned out that before, we had just been using the wrong bottle of stabilizer? Or something… PS was using some of the RF color in her test paints.
February 18, 2012 at 11:08 pm #873930Thanks again Melody and you too Pam. Even though the color is retired because of paint issues I will see if I can find the pecies still, if not then I will do what I planned on doing and finish the collection with a contrasting paint choice like ” Black-Violet” but if the paint problem is worked out then I will be on the look out. Though thank you for clearing that issue up for me. I hope to see the color again but I will not put my expectations to high. Though I want to know will the “Black-Violet-Peacock ” be around for a while even in small batches?
February 18, 2012 at 11:20 pm #873935What dragons do you already have Jenny? I’ll keep an eye out for ones you don’t already have..
February 18, 2012 at 11:27 pm #873938A hatchling and Fledling. I am looking for certain dragons like Emperor, Mother, lap,old warrior, young and male dragons. Thanks for the help oh and they don’t have to be in Red Fire though it would be nice, but I will take Black-Violet or Black gold as well.
