I have kept my first PYO griffin. I gave my first Ki-rin to my sister. And I still have my first PYO Wolf and Dragon. If it means a lot to you, I would say keep it.
June 8, 2007 at 6:45 pm #586950O.K., speaking as a sappy sentimentalist I vote with the keep your first one crowd. There is nothing in this world so beautiful as a thing that motivates us. And just think about the campfire stories that can be made with him. Try sending him to each of your relatives and insist they take a picture with him. Then send him somewhere else. I for one feel much more comfortable with more dragons in the world. I also believe that idea is contingent on you liking the dragon enough to keep him. You should surround yourself with things that make you happy. I am willing to bet that there is a really nifty future version of this guy waiting to meet the dragon that started it all. I could be wrong but what would it really hurt?
June 8, 2007 at 7:15 pm #586951I gave my first pyo griff to my dad for his 50th so that one will always be around. I would sell unless this is the one you did for yourself. If there is something other than this you would like to paint just for you to keep, I would sell this one and keep the other. I paint just cause I like to. I sell cause I don’t want too many of my own pyos laying around. I sold my first one besides the one I gave to my dad. Eventually I’m gonna paint one just for me, and when I do that I will probably get other pyos in diff sculpts and paint them simular so I can have my very own set that I did myself.

I disagree with your assumption that no one wants him, I think he beautiful and would want him. However, he was one you painted specifically for yourself, and that lies the difference, I would not want to take something from someone that has sentimental value.
This is why my first winged kirin is not for sale, she was for me, and though others have hinted they would be happy to see her on the auction block, they know I don’t want to sell her, so they don’t push.
Anyway, I think you should get other PYOs to paint for sale, and keep your first one.
I never did get to see him all finished until now, just the WIP pics, and I have to say, he’s really gorgous.
