I know some of you participated last year: Doing it again? Any newcomers? What are you writing about???

I am excited, as ever. This year I’ve succeeded in corrupting a couple new folks into the madness (my boyfriend being one of them–I’m hoping if he’s involved in his own novel, he won’t feel so bad when I ignore him for a month XD).

It’s going to be more hectic for me this year, as I’m a full time student and work at Windstone three days a week. Plus, I have no idea what to write about yet. Getting ahead of things by outlining or something would help endlessly, but so far, I’ve failed.

My dirty trick this year is, I think, to compile a list of prompts. Each time I run out of steam I’ll just refer back to the prompts, and I’m hoping that’ll keep me writing. What about you? Any tips or tricks up your sleeve?

For people who have no idea what I’m talking about, just go check out the link.

Man, I wish I had the time and will to participate… (After sitting at an office computer all day, the last thing I usually want on evenings and weekends is to spend more time at a computer. 😕 )

I don’t think I’ll be participating this year. Life’s just too crazy and I have no story ideas either.

Aww, I totally understand how that goes. I nearly didn’t participate in NaNo last year ’cause life was so crazy. Silly life.

I’m participating this year! I’ve started a Creative Writing Club where I teach and got all my students in the club (there are 5 of them – 7th and 8th graders) to commit to it as well. They don’t want to wait until November 1st, though! 😆
This is my first year, and I’m very excited. 😀

That cat is me. COMPLETELY. Let’s just hope I do a little better come NaNo day one!

Stephanie, that is so cool! I did NaNo the first time when I was fifteen, then the year after, at sixteen, went to the TGIO party and was the youngest person there. It was strange; I’d expected to have a bunch of other teens show up, too. It’s just the kind of crazy thing you do when you’re that age, you know? That’s why it’s so great that you got your kids involved. They sound pretty stoked about it, which is wonderful! And taking the leap yourself for the first time is awesome, too. It’s an amazing experience.
