September 18, 2010 at 11:45 pm #827297As everyone else said, use at your own risk! Nail polish is not intended to be archival and most will yellow over time. Plus, it is non-water based and can suffocate the gypsum, so to speak, if used in large areas (small areas seem to be okay). You can try it but it is at your own risk and with the knowledge that it may not look pretty indefinitely! 🙂

They were green/blue, green/purple and green/orange. They were interferences, so they’d look best over black. I haven’t really tried out what I got much yet, so I can’t offer testimonials to how good they look either, but they should be breathable and archival. I’d be happy to send y’all the ones I have to try (purple and blue).
Maybe someone makes other/better colorshift acrylics?September 19, 2010 at 7:17 pm #827300pipsxlch wrote:It’s not the same color range/choice, but I did find some Golden colorshift acrylics. Maybe someone makes other/better colorshift acrylics?I know of some, but they’re around $30 for 4 ounces. I could never locate the golden ones. Where would you buy them? I normally buy from dick blick but they don’t have them from what I can tell.
September 20, 2010 at 12:01 am #827301I bought mine from a small artist supply house that apparently feeds the university students in the area. The Michaels near me no longer has Golden. It was a few months ago so I no longer remember the price, but I think it was the same as all the other Golden paints, and is in 4 oz. bottles. I’d be happy to share what i have with someone (would take me years to use it all), or pick some up for them.
$30 for 4 oz!?! 😮 I’d need to be able to sell my pieces for a couple hundred dollars or so for that, and I don’t have that much confidence in my work!September 20, 2010 at 12:06 am #827302pipsxlch wrote:I bought mine from a small artist supply house that apparently feeds the university students in the area. Way too expensive. But the paint I’m talking about is an automotive paint, so I suppose that’s a contributing factor.
I’ve looked before for the golden paints. Can’t find them anywhere, including online.
I seems Michaels is slowly, but surely, not carrying things I use anymore. A few months back I tried to get some airbrush medium (as I always bought it there before, in two different brands) and they stopped carrying it. Stopped carrying quite a bit. Wonder why. Needless to say I don’t go there much anymore.September 20, 2010 at 12:17 am #827303Dick Blick has the multi-colored Golden Interference. Look for the colors with the word “New!” next to them, right below the Historial colors 🙂

Ah, well I feel dumb lol 😈 . I never looked at the large list, rather that I just used the search for it (since they tend to organize different types of paints on different pages). I did, just now, find them thru digging on Jerry’s Artarama. Thanks for the link.
September 20, 2010 at 2:33 am #827305Hah! I was about to say, wha? Not at Dick Blick?? … ’cause that’s the only place I order them from. XD

My art: featherdust.comSeptember 21, 2010 at 8:05 pm #827306I also saw some color shifting spray paint at either Lowe’s or Home Depot last week. I think it would be cool to paint a table or chair with it lol But it too was an interference-the can suggested you paint it over black or another really dark color.
