Honestly, I think you should just let it go. It will cause you alot of stress just trying to fight a battle that is impossible to win. I would try calling the tow company first, but if that does not work, I cant think of anything else you can really do.
February 21, 2007 at 6:59 pm #523000sorry for the rant I just want to HOA to do the job we are paying them to do. I got verbally threated about 2 weeks ago when challenging someone driving into the complex with out a card or remote. He drive in as I was driving out and had to get to work and got very verbal and wanted to fight. Sorry again I did not sleep last night because of this
February 21, 2007 at 9:08 pm #523001Sorry about your fledging, the ceiling, and the PYO dragon Ski. I like everyone else liked that dragon, and if I had the money I would of bid on it.
DM, I would try and move ASAP or if they do take it out on your car then you can always put in a claim with the insurance company.
February 21, 2007 at 9:37 pm #523002If I could jsut move I would. I’m a home owner and the condo’s in my complex are NOT selling right now. I paid $197,000 and there are like 5 on the market now the same size for like $185,000 and they are not selliing. I REALLY wish I had waited a year to buy. I can’t rent it out for enough to pay my mortgage either. I HATE being stuck like this. I called the HOA at about 9 this morning and still have not heard back from them
February 21, 2007 at 10:28 pm #523003Maybe you could rent out a room to help you pay for it. And if you find a better place and sell that one and take a loss at least you will get out of it. I kind of wished I waited to buy my house as well and one reason I bought it is because of the tax break…everyone said that it would be a lot better. I should of done more reasearch.
February 22, 2007 at 2:52 am #523004well tax break was the other HUGE reason. From what I was told I’d be getting back about $10,000 this year but I’m only getting $2100.
I finally got in touch with my HOA manager on my first break. We have no money in the till at present so she and one of the board members are going to repaint the lines for parking and the numbers and HOPEFULLY they will also take my suggestion and paint residence only on each parking space then if anyone parks in my space again I can have them towed and not feel bad about it. I jsut hope my car survives the first few tows!!
I can’t move at present and it looks like it wiil be a VERY long time before the market comes back up to where I can sellFebruary 22, 2007 at 6:19 am #523005Dragon Master wrote:sorry for the rant I just want to HOA to do the job we are paying them to do. That’s terrible. I know how you feel because I also have trouble sleeping when something very stressful happens. The HOA should definitely already have a sign posted saying that the spaces are for residents only.
Those people at your complex sound nasty. I wish you could move too. But right now its probably better to err on the side of caution because there are all kinds of psychos out there — last week I read an article about someone who shot his neighbor because he thought she was talking too loudly in her apartment.

That is CRAZY.I would not put anything past the people here. I had a guy want to fight me about 2 weeks ago when I tried to challenge his entry. HE was waiting outside the gate and entered as I exited, I watched him and he stopped his truck got out and asked me what I was lookign at and told me we could settle it right there and then if I got out of my car. I was late for work so I told him he can not enter unless he was a resident and left for work. I report4ed this to the HOA also and nothing has happened there either. I found out after I signed on all the dotted lines that this place used to be DRAG haven!!You could egt anyting you wanted any time you wanted. I think we still have a lot of them around. I hope the home owners can eventually take the complex back
February 22, 2007 at 2:19 pm #523007LOL! I went to go look at a couple new places today since the roof fell in. The first stairwell I went to had kids toys set up in the community garden (I feel that community areas are for the entire stairwell, NOT for some parent to make a personal playground for their kids) and they had strollers in the hallway. All I heard were screaming kids the whole way upstairs. I left. The second place was a little better on the outside, but still had a stroller in the stairwell. When I walked inside, a dog started yapping and hadn’t stopped when I left 5 minutes later. BOTH apartments were EXACTLY like the one I already live in, except im on the first floor and both these were on the third. I went and told the housing people that I would stay in my busted-down apartment until they could find me something a little more acceptable. I was ready to start chanting, “Hell NO WE WONT GO!” I really appriciate my deserted stairwell now.
February 22, 2007 at 5:11 pm #523008I wish you the best of luck in finding a new place to live. It’s not that easy especially when most renters do not give a rats butt. That’s the the pronblem we are having here we are about 40% I think she said renters but I think it’s more like 60% renters
February 22, 2007 at 9:25 pm #523009That is one good thing about living in a house rather than a apartment or condo. The neighbors aren’t that close to you and if you don’t cause trouble then they don’t bug you.
February 23, 2007 at 4:29 am #523010That’s the truth! With apartments you’re basically at the mercy of any noise that the neighbors make.
February 23, 2007 at 9:05 am #523011It should not be so bad, since we are on post and covered by community guidelines. Apparently its hard for some people to follow guidelines, though. 😕 I understand wanting your own place and all, but when you are in the military (or married to someone in the military) then you need to understand that sacrifices have to be made so that folks can live in partial harmony.

I wish folks around Ft. Stewart would follow the guidelines. When our upstairs neighbors moved in they were bad about leaving their music on real loud. I went and banged on their door one morning at 2 am to get them to turn it off. Their dog barked at the door, but no one came to it. The music went off around 5 am. It wasn’t the only time this happened either.
I know it sounds bad to say, but I’m glad the idiot took his wife, newborn and deserted the army. They were not good neighbors at all.
February 23, 2007 at 2:05 pm #523013Deserted? Like, illegally? Did they ever catch him?
