Ok, here she is. She isn’t completly done yet. There are a couple spots on her wings I’m not happy with, but the more I messed with it, the more mess I made. I wish her eyes would show up more too, but maybe that’ll happen when the masking comes off. I did try lining her eyes with black, hated it, then tried ivory and didn;t like that too much either….maybe you guys have a suggestion?? Anyway, I don’t think she came out too badly, and when she gets antiqued I think I’ll like her more…

January 25, 2007 at 4:01 pm #489421January 25, 2007 at 4:06 pm #532304Finally! Hey, she’s pretty. She’ll look great when she’s done. I would darken the fur around the eye just a little – not much. That’s natural.
January 25, 2007 at 4:13 pm #532305Wow! I think she looks nice! I like the wings.
January 25, 2007 at 4:14 pm #532306Isn’t it funny how it’s usually the wings that get the frist compliments? 🙂
January 25, 2007 at 4:15 pm #532307Thanks! I’ll try darkening around the eyes, thanks for the tip! When she is all done today I’ll post more pics….
January 25, 2007 at 4:15 pm #532308I mentioned I liked them becasue she mentioned she didn’t. I do think they look nice… they dont look messy to me. Whattaya think?
January 25, 2007 at 4:23 pm #532309I think they look great, especially the pinions. She probably just sees the paintbrush strokes and thinks it looks messy – I do that with my PYOs too. 😛
January 25, 2007 at 4:24 pm #532310I’d recommend some bling- like gold paint somewhere.
January 25, 2007 at 4:26 pm #532311Good idea, Cheryl – unless she wants to keep it natural-looking. I was going to suggest silver but gold would tie in better with the eyes.
January 25, 2007 at 4:37 pm #532312Likin the wings! VERY nice! I can’t wait to see her finished! 😀
January 25, 2007 at 7:54 pm #532313Ok, here she is all done. I got a ‘fixative’ thinking it would be a matte finish, cause it says matte on it….Well, it’s glossy…..
Now for a question. Does interference paint come in fluid or only heavy body? My store only had the heavy. Now when I put it on, I did cut it 50/50 with retarder, but it still went on really thick. I quick got a baby wipe and took most of it off. On the brown it looked like I painted gold right over it, not subtle at all. On the lighter colors tho it was fine….
Oh, one other thing….I noticed that the paint seemed to be rubbing off really easily. Mostly on the back, and I touched up most of it. I took my rings off thinking this may have been causing it. I really noticed it when I was antiqueing(which was a pain in the as*). I wonder if maybe I didn’t let it dry long enough??
Anyway, I like her. I’m quite proud of myself, even tho it sorta feels like a second grade art project 😆

January 25, 2007 at 7:59 pm #532314I love how the wings shine! They’re great. I love shiny stuff.
January 25, 2007 at 8:02 pm #532315Wow! That gold makes it POP!!
January 25, 2007 at 8:09 pm #532316Great job! I love the lighter chest and the gold wings.
