Sometime I need to find those tiger pics I got… they let us into the back area where they work with the tigers, it was really cool! Sometimes it’s nice having someone who used to work at a zoo with you… 😆
I love that blurry moth pic. It’s really nice!
August 27, 2008 at 2:44 am #651267Thank you! I thought it was a spoonbill but, I wasn’t sure since I couldn’t see the beak.
(It would help if the zoo would put that on a sign. At least I’m sure that they didn’t list the spoonbill on there.)
I’m sure that the butterfly is a common mormon. There were so many butterflies, but, most weren’t resting where you could get pictures of them.
When I was getting pictures of the tree kangaroo, I was visited by a victoria crowned pigeon. I guess he liked me…. By the time I turned my camera onto him he was visiting some other people further down the path….

September 2, 2008 at 3:13 am #651270Well, here’s some pictures of how I spent my labor day… First we went to Niagara on the Lake, then we stopped at the Butterfly Conservatory. Then on to Niagara Falls. I don’t have any pictures of the Falls. We drove past them (it was $20 to park… ouch). All in all a great but exhausting day.

Butterflys:
One of the butterflys thought my hand was the perfect sunning spot. (There was another, but, I didn’t get a picture of it.)

If anyone is interested the rest of the photos are here. Start at page 3 and go back. (I always load them backwards….)
The first three pictures are of Red Bay. I spent last Saturday visiting family, and visiting some beaches. We stopped at Sauble first, then Red Bay. Sauble is so busy and dirty. I love Red Bay. It’s so sad though, the water level is getting lower every year. I didn’t take a picture of the dock but, the water is way out near the end of the dock, before the water started at the beginning of the dock….. You can see where the boats are, thats as close as they can come to shore here. But, it’s great for children. No where near as busy as Sauble. But, there’s also nothing around the area. No shops, no stores at all. Then to Colpoys Bay, visit some more aunts and uncles and then home.
