Actually a recent study showed that the most likely purebred dog to bite is a Dachshund.
Really? That’s funny. 😆
I’d believe that on the Dachshunds.
Cocker Spaniels are notorious for causing many bites too! Overly bred, can be very nervous, neurotic, ill mannered, and nippy when ill-bred and/or poor training. List of medical problems a mile long. I had one that came from a puppy mill growing up (we didn’t know that until we got him and then we felt a need to rescue him – he was definitely 2 weeks too young when we got him, poor thing . Neurotic for sure and I got bit more than once by him! Then, on the other end of the spectrum, there are the two sweeties I have now, one from a reputable breeder (Soot, a little spooky, but the black ones seem to lean that way, too much white or he would have gone for breeding/show), and Lucky, an adopted cocker. Cute as a button and the worst he’d do is lick you to death! Even random people in the vet office who normally wouldn’t consider petting a cocker for fear of a nip adore him! If I knew he could handle the drives around and I had the time, he’d be perfect as a therapy dog!
Terriers can also be nippy. Large dogs are so misunderstood or some have the bad luck of having a bad owner. Most are just giant couch potatoes of love. 😆
