I believe it. Little dogs get the napoleon complex… My brother got bit by a pomeranian when he was in grade 5…. I have never seen ANYONE run that quickly…. LOL
That and people are less scared of little dogs, they’re too “cute” to bite. 🙄

Hahaha! “Boy mauled by a pomeranian!” My in-laws have the tiniest (and fatest) pomeranian I ever saw. That thing can bite all it wants, I don’t think it would make a mark bigger than a mosquito bite.
All joking aside, it may be why people are less afraid of the smaller dogs; unconsciously, they probably think that if a smaller dog bites, it will be less likely to take out a pound of flesh…
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I host the feedback lists, which are maintained by drag0nfeathers.

My brother needed stitches 😯 the little guy was young and had razor sharp teeth! ….. kinda like my cat, now that I think of it…..
November 17, 2008 at 4:57 pm #741002Our Pomeranian thinks she’s a really huge mean dog… even though she’s a tiny cotton swab..
the horrible neighbor next door has 5 huge, extremely overwieght, disgusting and stinky dogs.. and they bark all the time and our cotton swab doesn’t like them.. because they attack the fence every time we go out the front door (yes the goob has them all in the house and lets them all out the front door every time we step out) and she doesn’t like it.. so she will go try to beat them all up when we take her out for a ride..
what’s funny is even though they are so mean and big.. they’re so fat she prolly could do some damage to them… LOL

I really want a rottweiler someday, but my hubby says they are too dangerous. I have done my best to show him how it’s not necessarily the breed, but how people use and raise the breed that often determines if they are violent. When we watch animal planet, I see MANY little dogs more often who are violent than big dogs. It annoys me when people assume the types of breeds (like rottweilers) are always violent.
November 17, 2008 at 7:04 pm #741005I actually dont like small dog breeds….at all….some of the most vicious dogs I’ve ever met were teeny little yappers. Larger dogs tend to be calmer, from my experience, though every dog is an individual. The gentlest dog I ever knew was a rottie. 🙂
November 17, 2008 at 8:13 pm #741006I used to have a rottie, and he was a love! I still miss him (had to leave him behind when the ex-boyfriend dumped me – missed the dog more than the guy – 😆 ).
November 17, 2008 at 8:14 pm #741007You could always call her Bugly? 😆 😆 I vote Pit/Boxer as well. I hope you get the mange under control and she turns out just fine!
Best of luck!
November 17, 2008 at 9:34 pm #741008She’s adorable! 😀
November 17, 2008 at 9:44 pm #741009Well we have decided to nickname her Bella. She looks like a Bella. Well, actually, she looks like a Bugly, but Bella will have to do.
Yeah, Staffies are banned, too, but Rottweilers are not. I dont know if all posts have gone to subsidized housing, but here it is, and its housing that has the ban…not the Army.
And for anyone wanting a Rotty, I have two and they wouldnt bite a hole thru a donut, so its not the breed. 😉
November 17, 2008 at 10:12 pm #741010Yep my lap dog is a mastiff rotty mix, and is well a lap dog, 135lb lap dog, but he loves people, and wants to be near us at all times.
There is actually a case of a baby having been killed by a Pomeranian, typical story they left the baby alone with the dog, they found the child with her head in the dogs mouth and she died of head trauma.
Many breeds of dogs are just to much for some people to handle.
