Aww, poor mangy puppy. At least it’s not Sarcoptic Mange, isn’t that one the one that’s much worse? Or do I have them mixed up?
Sarcoptic mange is the contagious one (even people can get it, though it’s self limiting on you). It’s not really worse, persay, unless it gets passed around to everyone, it’s just different.
November 16, 2008 at 5:10 pm #740983Poor puppy!!! I think she’ll be really cute when the mange clears up. Why do you need a “B” name?
November 16, 2008 at 5:15 pm #740984I dont necessarily need a ‘B’ name, It would just go well with the other dog names. Rab, Moocah, Remy, and Bootch? Any name that suits her would work. My mom suggested “Belle.” Not bad… I just said this morning to my mom that I bet she’s gonna come out looking like pit! Something about the shape of her back end is seriously screaming pit and you guys cant even see that part and yet said pit. I hope she comes out looking more like a boxer cuz pits are harder to place. I still have Remy and Remy is gorgeous!
Hhhahahaa…see her brain! Ha!

Well Belle was the name of the girl in Beauty and the Beast and I think your little “beast” will turn out to be a “beauty”, so I’ll go along with your Mom and vote for “Belle”. 😆
She “screams” pit to me too.
Are you going to keep Remy? 😕

I dont think so. Army bases adopted that stupid pit ban on post, so we could run into problems. Im not the type of owner to give up a dog under any circumstances besides aggression, and it could potentially cause alot of problems. Also, I have Rab and Moocah, and I enjoy fostering. If I got Remy, I would only be able to foster one puppy at a time as opposed to two. We’ll see what happens. I love having her and she suits me to a tee personality wise.
November 16, 2008 at 5:24 pm #740987That’s a shame about the pit ban. I know you love Remy.

Yeah. I hate stupid people. 😕
November 16, 2008 at 5:30 pm #740989Of course they can’t prove she’s a pit.

😆 They’ll take her to a vet and let the vet decide, and unfortunately, there is no mistaking her. 😆
November 16, 2008 at 7:26 pm #740991Looks like a pit boxer, but with a touch more boxer…. well… maybe not, we had a cream brindle pit mix that was gorgeous one time, and she looked kinda like that (just a few years older).
I bet she’s gonna be beautiful when she grows up!!! Kinda like that pit mix we had in GP :).
November 17, 2008 at 3:50 am #740992She could be part pit, but I definately see boxer there too…I’d endorse boxer primarily and say she is part Staffordshire terrier, which is one of the breeds the pit terrier derives from. But Pits are from an English bulldog and Staffordshire outcrossing.
Insist on using Staffordshire rather than pit bull, that should help with the ban thing. Most pit bulls I have ever met my biggest danger was bing licked to death, I wish people would research rather than just react in a panic and start banning things.
Might help with Remy too, if you can get her breed listed as Staffordshire, maybe they didn’t think to include that name in the banning thing. We can hope, though some of these bans have taken to including all terriers, which is retarded.

November 17, 2008 at 3:56 am #740993Or the American Bulldog. It’s a herding dog. 😉
November 17, 2008 at 4:15 am #740994If the breeds banned where Ski is are the same as the ones banned at Fort Stewart then they include:
Akita, Boxer, Chow, Doberman, Pit Bull, Rotweiller, American Staffordshire Terrier, English Staffordshire, Bull Terrier, wolf hybrids or any other breed with dominant traits gear toward aggression.

Well pooh!!! 😕
funny they didn’t put St. Bernards on there. That has to be the meanest dogs I’ve ever run into. The rest on the list have all been teddy bears.
November 17, 2008 at 5:59 am #740996Actually a recent study showed that the most likely purebred dog to bite is a Dachshund.
I want to adopt a pit mix some day, our SPCA is full of husky’s though. Being northern we have the cast offs from sledding breeding, so they are dogs that were not fast enough to make the team, but are neurotic enough to be hard to deal with as house pets.
