Neat! What are they made of?

I wasn’t sure if you’d noticed, but the ‘Topland’ button changes to ‘Elevation Indicators’ when I mouse over it. Maybe it’s just an IE 6 issue, don’t know. Figured I’d mention it! 🙂
I like the poses on those fairies. Very natural!

It lets the player indicate how high off the ground a character is during battle if they are using a magical spell or item such as “Fly” or “Levitate.” Or climbing up a wall or stairs. No one has ever come up with anything before (people always just used pop cans or dice containers which showed the character to be off the ground, but not how high), so we are hoping it will be very popular. Height becomes important when other magic spells are being cast by other people, so know if that character is in the area of effect or not.
Aw, ok. I have played D&D before. It was fun.

The elevation indictators or the Topland stuff?

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll check it out. I’m not sure how I’d fix it.
Edit: I just went and checked and it doesn’t do that for me. Try refreshing the page and see if it stops.

My art: featherdust.comJune 1, 2007 at 10:09 pm #583097Some of it says it’s Cold Cast Bronze, but it seems like resin to me. I put “Cold Cast Resin painted to look like bronze” on the top of the page, but I’m not sure. I just thought it would be safer because they seem pretty fragile on their delicate edges.
They do have really nice styrofoam inserts inside their boxes, and I’ll double-box and pack safely like always. So you don’t have to worry about things breaking in transit. 🙂
June 1, 2007 at 10:18 pm #583098Cold Cast Bronze is just a fancy term for resin. 😉 They mix some bronze powder in with the resin when they cast it. It has a small amount of bronze in it but is actually resin with the look (but not the structural integrity, weight, or cost) of bronze.

My art: featherdust.comJune 1, 2007 at 10:35 pm #583099Okay. I’ll just stick with my Cold Cast Resin description then. Thanks for clearing that up for me. 🙂
June 10, 2007 at 1:40 am #583100I just wanted to let you all know that I found some better pictures of the new line of Topland Trading things. A couple I took myself. I still need a new one for the Fairy Eolande though.
Is there anything you would like to see me carry? Egyptian things? Greek gods or heroes? More Art Nouveau things (mirrors, dishes, boxes)? Candlesticks? Samurai? Knights on horses? Geisha? Quan Yin? Buddha? Incense burners? Let me know what you think. Thanks.
June 10, 2007 at 1:53 am #583101Man, I do so love that unicorn. He’s very handsome. Specially with his tail being the base, very cleaver!
The pegasus too! But I also love horses, so I’m probably bias ;3
“Knights on horses”? Depends on the piece, but they sound like they could be interesting!June 10, 2007 at 2:51 pm #583102The knights on horses are pewter. They’re about 4″ tall. Here’s an example of one. This one would cost $26.50. What do you think?
June 10, 2007 at 3:05 pm #583103Stop it! Stop it!! I can’t even afford my Windstone habit, and here you are temping me with all of this! You evil, evil person you. 😉
June 10, 2007 at 3:12 pm #583104Calm down. 🙂 I just want to know if I should start carrying these. Just opinions. I don’t have them yet, so you can’t buy them anyway (except for the things on my website). I just want to know if there’s a market for investing in them. Kujacker mentioned that it might be interesting, so I wanted to show him a pic to see if he still thought so.
I guess from your reaction that you like it too. Do you think $26.50 is too much for a 4″ pewter figure like this?

I think that’s a pretty reasonable cost for something that nicely detailed. Especially when you see crappy little pewter figures like this that cost about as much. (I have that dragon piece thanks to my mom; I really don’t like it). I’m not a huge fan of most knight stuff, but that one is nice.
