As most of you already know , my mother passed away last week.
We have a problem.
My mother’s beautiful cat needs a home.
Pearl is a spayed an indoor/ outdoor cat. She is very affectionate, and talkative (She has a very Siamese -like personality), though it takes a week for her to warm up to strangers.
If any of you folks are interested in taking in my mom’s cat, I would be eternally grateful!
This sweet cat is important to me, and I will take her myself if we can’t find a home , but because she needs to be outside, I fear she won’t do well here where there are coyotes and very cold winters.
Here is a photo of Pearl.

But I’m moving from a No Pet Zone to another No Pet Zone 🙁
September 1, 2010 at 9:47 am #825865I have a busy road in front of my house and a mile of woods behind my house, so my kitty is confined to the indoors. 🙁 The kitty we have now came from a farm belonging to one of my husband’s coworkers. Believe it or not, she’s allergic to hay! When we got her she didn’t have much fur and her eyes were swollen mostly shut, she really needed an indoor home. We have had her a year and a half and she has grown a luscious black coat and has sparkly golden eyes now (and never gets off my bed!)
September 1, 2010 at 1:33 pm #825866I am really sorry to hear about you Mom Melody….Pearl is stunning, I love her markings and her eyes are beautiful! I am all the way in Canada and I am not sure how Maks would take to her but if I could I would give her a loving home.
I really hope you are able to find her a good and loving home, hopefully with someone you know, so that you can visit!Marzena
September 1, 2010 at 3:58 pm #825867I’m kinda far… (South Cali) but I have been DYING for another cat since my best friend Sabrina passed about 4 years ago. The only worry I have is that we’re right smack in the middle of desert… It might take a while to get a convincer, but I’ll see if I could… Doesn’t hurt to try, right?
September 1, 2010 at 8:48 pm #825868Aww Melody she is precious! I wish I could take her. I had a Siamese once and she was so tender hearted and sweet. I hope you can find a wonderful forever home for her.
September 1, 2010 at 9:26 pm #825869such a beautiful kitty… i only keep my kitties inside, but if that would be acceptable, i can take her. if not, my neighbor is actively looking for a very, very affectionate cat (his words!) and would be able to let her outside. his last cat was indoor/outdoor and we live in a very quiet neighborhood far from any coyotes. 😀 just let me know. hope you’re doing okay… its got to be really rough right now for you.
September 1, 2010 at 9:29 pm #825870She is beautiful. But I’m in Canada too and she would have to be indoor only. Way too much traffic around here. Hope you can find a great forever home for her.
September 1, 2010 at 9:45 pm #825871I’m so obscenely far away…and not living in a good place for kitties to be outdoors. I hope she finds a new home smoothly, it’d be wonderful if a forum member were able to adopt her.
September 2, 2010 at 1:31 am #825872Oh…..she looks just like my much missed Mitzy kitty. If I didn’t have 3 cats already……….*sigh*
September 2, 2010 at 5:56 am #825873My kitties are indoor only, sadly. But, I’m willing to chip in to get her to her perfect home if need be. She’s a lovely little thing. <3
September 2, 2010 at 7:21 pm #825874The more I think, the more I think its a bad idea with the main street and the desert lot a little way from my house… I would LOVE to take her, though. 😥

Oh, I would love for you to take her! Maybe she could be an indoor cat… I would MUCH prefer that she is,( that is so much safer for all cats) but that will be up to her I think… I have emailed you!
September 2, 2010 at 11:15 pm #825876Okay, I haven’t posted on the forum since… um… 2006? (In the appropriately named, “Do you have a sister?” thread, here: http://www.windstoneeditions.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=226) But I’d like to chime in about Pearl.
She’s every bit as charming and loving, as described, and I honestly think she would warm up quick to anyone who fed her and paid attention to her. She never really gave me the time of day until our mom went into the hospital and I started being the one to feed her every day. As motivated as cats usually are to EAT, sometimes she will wait until I pick her up and give her cuddles before she’s even interested in eating.
I think the reason she’s an outdoor as opposed to an indoor cat is mainly because that’s what worked for my mom. She used to like to come into the house and sit on my mom’s lap in the evenings while she read or watched TV and when it was time for bed she got the boot. She’s never been box trained, but she’s a smart cat, I’d guess she’d figure it out.
She’s chatty, personable and ready to continue being spoiled rotten in a loving home. Mel can give you my contact info if you would like to meet her.
Mel’s sister, Pearl’s humble servant and other things I’ve been called that I probably shouldn’t mention here,
