I put more stripes on its head and then I decided to give it to my sister for her b-day.

January 7, 2007 at 9:04 am #489198January 7, 2007 at 9:19 am #524483I love the way the side scales look, he is all pretty, but the side scales are stunning to me.
January 7, 2007 at 9:20 am #524484The scales and belly are lovely! I’m not sure about the mane and tail though. The stripes seem not quite right… dunno, they’re not awful or anything, it just seems like there should be something else you could do with them? But the color scheme is lovely! I like the black and white a gold a lot!
January 7, 2007 at 9:25 am #524485OK..I had an idea for black and white with gold….but it’s not the same….so I’m still safe….
looks pretty neat….I like the stripeys…
January 7, 2007 at 9:28 am #524486Thanks guys. My bf said it was his favorite PYO so far. He even liked the stripes. If I decide I don’t like the stripes later, I can always repaint over them.
January 7, 2007 at 9:30 am #524487I think if you add a bit more of the gold like the stripes further up the head…that would make it blend a bit better and seem more consistant….but the stripes are great
January 7, 2007 at 9:34 am #524488Ok, I will try that. Thanks.
January 7, 2007 at 10:00 am #524489Ooooh! I adore the side scales!

Beautiful kirin, but I do agree with Frozen about adding a few more stripes further up to balance things.
January 7, 2007 at 6:50 pm #524491That’s a neat color scheme! It kind of reminds of of the Egyptian masks on the pharaohs, and the gold stripes work really well.
January 7, 2007 at 7:58 pm #524492Lovely kirin, dragoness. The scales are, like everybody else said, great. Frozen’s idea with adding more stripes up the head is right on target, too. I’d even suggest adding a few “transparent” specks of gold on his face, just so the gold around his eyes isn’t so abrupt. It’s a pretty color scheme.
January 8, 2007 at 1:13 am #524493Thank you guys about your comments. I will try out your suggestions that you had and post pics after.

agreed. Maybe if you used the gold to rub over the ridges in the mane and tail, like an antique in reverse, instead of actually painting the areas. But the color scheme is stunning! He looks like Egyptian Royalty
February 12, 2007 at 7:41 pm #524495Well, I just added more stripes on the head. My sister likes him tho.
