With the entire top of his wing broken off and reglued terribly. The glue is squished out so there’s a glue bulge all along the obvious break. Forget the fact hes covered in rubs and chips. Here’s pics…
I can repair him though….I may end up painting him a different color if I can’t match the old brown color…I’ll keep this updated.

May 10, 2007 at 4:05 pm #572968Aw, I’m sorry, purplecat. But I’m glad you can fix him.
May 10, 2007 at 4:08 pm #572969I just finished chipping the glue off of him…luckily it was really brittle and came off without too much of the gypsum. That was my biggest worry on fixing him so I suppose I’m ok now. 🙂
May 10, 2007 at 6:08 pm #572970What a bummer. I am glad you are not too dissapointed. 🙂
May 10, 2007 at 6:12 pm #572971Well, I talked to the seller and asked for a partial refund and she has already sent it, no problem. Can’t be too upset when the seller’s super helpful about making you happy. I told her what I thought he was worth in his condition and she ok’d it and apologized. 😀 😀
May 10, 2007 at 6:33 pm #572972Did you know he was damaged when you bought him? I would be so mad!
May 10, 2007 at 6:39 pm #572973He was described as having a chip and a hairline crack…She emailed that her niece actually posted him and she was sorry he wasn’t accurately described. I would be ticked off if I couldn’t repair him but since I can I’m ok. I’m a little upset I don’t think with the amount of damage I can keep him the same color but I was wanting to try a grey lion or seal colored lion anyway. I really like the natural color they come in so I thought about repainting him the same color but then he might be mistaken for an original windstone… I figured if I’m gonna repaint him I might as well do something different. 😕 😕 Still thinking on this and haven’t made up my mind yet.
May 10, 2007 at 6:52 pm #572974Just be sure if you do repaint him to sign the bottom “repainted by purplecat”. That way if it ever gets sold (not that you are planning to) there’s no confusion over it being a real windstone or a rip off.
May 10, 2007 at 7:17 pm #572975Hey Peg!!! I love your new avatar!!! 😀
May 10, 2007 at 7:24 pm #572976Yeah, even repair stuff I try to label “repaired by…” so there’s never any confusion that it was mint. I really try to never step on any toes. 8)
May 10, 2007 at 7:29 pm #572977Well at least you got one and hopefully you didn’t end up paying that much for it in the end. Def post pics after you decide.
May 11, 2007 at 1:00 am #572978Talk to the factory they can send you paint for the touch-ups they sent me some so I can paint the fleabites on my flion.

Now there’s an idea 💡 …Good idea Ruffian.
I think you should go that route first Purplecat, then if it doesn’t work, at least you tried.
