IF I do more PYO’s after this one, then I will make my own thread, but for now, here is my first PYO Kirin! Over the black of the body, I used a metallic copper, and a metallic bronze to do some coloring over the black. All of the paint on him is metallic.

Beautiful! I’m in love with how you did the fur! It looks so real and natural! Did you antique?

Thanks!! I didn’t quite antique, although the idea is similar. I took a dry paintbrush, dipped it in copper paint and then I took the dipped paintbrush and gently smeared it into a paper towel until the brush seemed dry again, then I took the brush and applied it gently over the black-painted fur so that the paint could highlight the raised details of the fur. I did that all over, then I took some bronze paint and essentially did the same thing on the muzzle, mane, ears, hooves, back, and tail, but I didn’t do it as lightly. The bronze areas are the lighter parts on the fur.

I’m loving the fur- it’s sort of rustic looking (although, you said it was metallic paint, so maybe less rustic looking in person?).

Dry brushing the metallics on was a good idea.
