It’s been a very long time since I’ve painted a PYO for myself (my several last pyos were all swap pieces), and even longer than that since I used acrylic to paint a PYO instead of my normal pastels.
He’s impossible to photograph. Monsoon is coming soon though so maybe I’ll get some nice cloudy weather for some pictures (and my sanity).
He has quite a bit of teal on him as well, though the photos are doing well in showing it. He’s for sale or trade if anyone is interested.
Hopefully I’ll get into the swing of painting them again. This guy sat for months before being finished. No drive to do anything hah.
June 12, 2018 at 1:27 pm #1539989Wow, wow! This guy is stunning! The blue is so dynamic and beautiful… I’m in love! ;O;!!!
June 12, 2018 at 3:00 pm #1539992I really love that you used a teal crystal on the head, I dunno I just really like it against the blue/teal!

June 12, 2018 at 5:58 pm #1539998Thanks everyone 😀
@landipan I actually wanted to use the blue gem on his head because I had planned for the head to be black, dark gray eyes because his face was going to be blue, and a dark/black/or gray gem in his tail because his tail was going to be blue. I don’t know if it had the effect that I thought it might in my head, but I still like it.Here are a couple more, now that the sun isn’t as strong (though it’s still 106 out). Turns out the shade completely kills the teal color lol ah I can’t catch a break. Oh well 🙂 (the curl of his tail is actually teal as well)
June 12, 2018 at 6:58 pm #1540001I think the colors are beautiful, I love blues and teals, and I think the color of the wings are gorgeous. He’s a mighty fine dragon, if I do so myselff!
And I hear ya on trying to get accurate photos with natural lighting, it’s a pain! I’ve been thinking about getting one of those light boxes to try and have nicer, color accurate photos, but I keep putting it off because procrastinating on everything is the name of my game xD

Not currently open for PYO commissions.June 12, 2018 at 7:05 pm #1540002I actually have a light box! Complete with lights. But since I’ve moved twice in the past several years, and most of my stuff has remained in boxes since the first move, I have no idea where it is (or if it got thrown out). I can say it did work incredibly well!
June 13, 2018 at 2:30 am #1540006I imagine that once you’ve set up a lighting situation it’s a real relief! No more waiting for the sun and shade to be at the certain angles lol.

Either way, I just can’t get over how much of a stunner he is. Wow, wow!! -
