So, in a quiet attempt to finish my White dragon set, I went ahead and purchased this little hatching egg for $50. They originally ask for $100, which was crazy, so I gave them the best offer of $50. Plus shipping. I told them I want it double boxed with lots of padding… because, I don’t care how small it is, it’s still fragile. And if you’re going to sell me something that’s only worth $25 for $50 I expect you to spend a few dollars in packaging. Right? Well, no they didn’t. They send it in a broken down old beat up box wrapped a couple times with bubble wrap, and tossed it on it’s way. It wasn’t even solidly placed in the box. The whole way it was probably banging back and forth in the box. Grrr!!!
Thankfully, it’s not smashed to smitherines or something. A chip on the head and a crack by the eye. I think I can fix it. But I mean, 2 chips on an item that’s barely 2 inches?? There’s no tag, no original box, and it looks almost fake next to my other whites. It’s BRIGHT Hospital room white, and my others are mellow regal pearl white. I don’t get it. So I’m pretty upset for what I got.
I got hosed, and I know it. Damn. Lesson learned.
No more Ebay for me.[End Rant]
May 21, 2007 at 9:23 pm #579288It isn’t always that bad Safyre. Trust me. I have bought alot more than the 36 feedbacks that show. I have only 2 items that weren’t packaged or shipped correctly. Both were fixable. But boy was I steamed when it happened! 👿
Ebay CAN be a good experience! 😀
Neutral feedback them if you want. I think I spend more time checking out seller’s feedback than worrying about the bid itself. I don’t go any lower than 98.5% pos. Those people even scare me sometimes. But, if they make it right to the buyers in the past then I will buy whatever I want that they are selling! (and feel safe) 8)May 21, 2007 at 9:34 pm #579289Yes, don’t abandon ebay because of a bad seller!
We KNEW that this seller was trying to cheat people before you ever bid. Most sellers are totally honest, but I don’t find it very surprising that somebody who would overprice things and mis-label things in hopes of making more money would skimp on packaging.
Just only deal with reputable sellers, and you’ll do okay!
May 21, 2007 at 9:48 pm #579290Thats too bad Safyre, I think we all have had a poorly packed experience. Can you get your money back?

Safyre, you shouldn’t stand for this, you should return it and demand a refund.
White hatching dragons come up fairly regularly on ebay, to give you an idea there were 24 sold since Oct. 1st 2006, so that’s 3 a month on average.
And if you’re willing to pay that price, BTWeddingcreations is selling one for $79.99 right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/Windstone-Editions-White-Hatching-Dragon-RETIRED_W0QQitemZ270090253293QQihZ017QQcategoryZ35873QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Yes, I’ll admit, that’s a bit overpriced, but at least with BT you know it’ll be super well packed and truly in mint condition. Quite a few people here have dealt with them in the past.
May 21, 2007 at 10:57 pm #579292I also had a white dragon I purchased on Ebay arrive broken due to improper packing unfortunately it was the Emperor but it was insured and at least I got my money back. I later won another one which also arrived broken – third time was a charm so I now have one.

That’s true, that’s true. They were trying to rip people off 100%, mislabled and everything. I felt $50 was fair enough, so I don’t feel bad about the price. I dunno, it was just a surprise. They get a neutral feedback from me. It’s not that bad, I suppose… and now my mom and pop aren’t missing their baby. He just get the nickname Glue Head 😆
I’ll give ebay another shot, or two, but not for awhile. I’m still unemployed [[what am I doing???]] 😳 😯darjeb; I’m so sorry about your ebay experiences. Emperors are so hard to come by, and I guess even harder to ship. Congrats on getting one in-tact
May 21, 2007 at 11:35 pm #579294i was wondering who bought that one. i irks me that someone would pack something so expensive and obviously fragile so carelessly. gggrrrrr
May 22, 2007 at 1:08 am #579295I know how you feel. My very first ebay purchase was a family of 4 peacock dragons. I was completely stoked that I got them all for $150. When the box arrived, it was smashed in and all 4 pieces, including the little hatchling had major damage. The male dragon was in 3 large pieces and lots of dust/chips. The seller had stuffed all for dragons into one box with some wadded up newsparer and sent it parcel post. At least now I’ve had better luck.
May 22, 2007 at 2:13 am #579296I bought the Green Emporer that BTweddingcreations had on Ebay. They package things so well, I am always looking at all their sales! I love my Emporer!!! 😀
May 22, 2007 at 3:38 am #579297Sorry to hear about that hatchling, Safyre. But like the others said, usually E-Bay is a great way to buy – as long as you avoid people who are already cheating in description and pricing.
May 22, 2007 at 5:12 am #579298Yep. Just get your money back. $50 is a fair price for a white hatcher, but not for a damaged white hatcher. Contact the seller and give them a chance to make it right. Ebay can be wonderful! Not all packers stink! 🙂

So sorry 🙁 to hear about your dragon. But it is true, not all sellers are like that. Some do take the time and effort to package it right. I’ve had my fare share of bad sellers 👿 but when you do find a good one stick with him if he sales the stuff you like on a regular basic 😉 . Just curious, do you have a pic of the dragon you got?
