For some reason I’m so proud of myself for being a jerk today that I wanted to share with someone but facebook wasn’t appropriate so I chose to do it here……
A few years ago my parents bought me an iwata airbrush and compressor. They know I like to do artwork and wanted me to get into using an airbrush so I could eventually get into automotive/motorcycle painting. I used my airbrush alot on painting windstones but that didn’t make my parents happy. They wanted me to use it on cars but I’ve no experience working with painting cars and after I had Alyssa I didn’t have the time to get into it. Well my mom started harassing me to give the airbrush and compressor back, that my dad wanted to use it now. I was pissed because 1. they GAVE it to me and 2. I was using it just not for what they thought it should be used for. After months of harassment I caved and gave it back to them. Danny was livid that I did and said I should have stood my ground, that it was my airbrush not theirs. After I gave it back to them them promptly threw it in the attic and never touched it. I was mad that it sat there under piles of boxes not being used when I used it all the time. So yesterday I was feeling particularly pissy about life in general and thought about my airbrush. I have a pyo keeper thats been sitting on my table unfinished because I can’t get the blending to turn out how I want it. Oh how I wanted my airbrush because I knew I could finally finish this keeper with it. I sent my mom a text asking if “dad was still using it” because I was just going to buy my own. I knew he wasn’t using it, I knew exactly where it was in the attic under boxes but I just wanted to see what she would say. Her response was he wasn’t using it and not to waste my money that she would try to find it for me. Well that was all I needed so I marched right over there and unburied my poor airbrush and compressor and took it right back to my house! (/insert gollum voice) I’m NEVER giving it back! Its MINE given to ME and I’m the only one who has EVER used it! They can break down my door if they think they are going to ever get it back. I’m being a total jerk about it and Danny would be so proud of me….. Rant over thanks for listening.
March 26, 2014 at 12:53 am #910548I think the term is “being assertive”, and there is nothing wrong with that. 🙂
March 26, 2014 at 5:19 am #910564I think you were actually nice about. haha. If it were me I would have just gone over and taken it without asking or wouldn’t have given it back but then again I am a bratty only child. Good for you for getting it back!

March 27, 2014 at 2:47 am #910655Good on ya, purpledoggy! You handled that extremely smoothly. You stood up for yourself, but did it in such a way that your folks haven’t got a mosquito’s chance at a frog picnic of ever taking it back. It’s a shame they had to be such warts about it before, but I think you’ve wrapped the matter up beautifully. Enjoy your painting!
