This one is done in pastels, with acrylic accents. The orange is not really orange, it’s tan. I had a lot of fun with this one, but I got black pastel dust EVERYWHERE!! π What are you gonna do, you know?
February 17, 2007 at 12:47 am #541147I saw him up on Ebay. He is very pretty. So soft looking! I really need to try the pastels.
So you put pastel, sealer, pastel, sealer, etc? Is it a matte sealer?
I have a griffin just waiting for something to be done with him!February 17, 2007 at 1:01 am #541148Hes beautiful! Very soft looking! I LIKE! π
February 17, 2007 at 2:43 am #541149Thanks! I think thats what you do, pastel, sealer, pastel , sealer, etc….Yes, that is a ‘matte’ sealer. I’m finding that matte really just means not ultra-neon reflective. I’m still on the hunt for a good matte spray.

yeah my satin sealer…is still too shiney…haven’t tried the new matte sealer I got….but I’m looking forward to it…
hopefully it’s not glossy…but that’s a hard thing to get

Do you guys prefer matte, or satin sealer to the glossy ones? And if so why? I think the glossy REALLY brings out the colors better. Well on my PYO’S anyhow…..Curious! π
February 17, 2007 at 5:21 am #541152Beautiful wolf, asinnammon. He looks plush.
February 17, 2007 at 10:28 am #541153I love the darker and lighter greys… very nice.
I prefer less glossy. I dunno…. too shiny just detracts, for me. Maybe if I saw one in person, I would feel different.
February 17, 2007 at 1:33 pm #541154I think it depends on the sculpt & the paint job. For me, I like to do more natural colors. I haven’t ever seen a glossy shiny wolf…..ah, but then again I haven’t seen one with wings either π . I have a dragon to do when I find the right colors, and he will absolutely be glossy.

I have seen I think, two, with really shiny finishes. One was the Wolfs Rain one that was done and then there was a dragon on Ebay that was done by one of the newer folks that just joined. It was reeeeally shiny. π―

LOL! True bout the wings…but look at this guy (under me)…he’s got the super shiny gloss on him, I think that is makes all my colors brighter and more vibrant…I dunno I am really partial to SHINY things π I am not really for “flat” things. I guess we all have our likes and dis-likes.
LOL, was it mine Ski??? under “DragonsLairTreasures”?
The Black and blue Dragon? If so then π yes, for some reason the BLACK makes the gloss SUPER shiny π― …But “DDVM” (also forum member I found out) sure fell head over heels for it though when she got the dragon πFebruary 18, 2007 at 9:30 am #541157DragonsCavern wrote:LOL, was it mine Ski??? under “DragonsLairTreasures”?

It was yours!! I wanted to get it so bad, cuz the paint job was lovely, but it was soooooo shiny π― I still think it was pretty, and I like shiny, it just looked like the gloss was super-think. Could have been the pics, but I wasn’t sure. You were not a member yet.
February 18, 2007 at 2:20 pm #541158I actually meant I had never seen a shiny wolf in real life…. π
