Just curious Ski… How many have you painted so far, and how many have you sold?
BTW, I think it’s a great idea to sell them so you can get more to paint.

I bought four originally (wolves.) I have sold one to my most faithful Ebay bidder. I have this one, im working on a brown and black one that I may finish tonight and I have one left unpainted. I keep them around for a while and then usually sell them. The only ones I keep are the ones I get from other members. Its more fun to paint them than to have them and my house has quite a few PYOs. I just dont want too many. Besides, the ones I paint are not as exciting to me. I know all about them, you know? Its more fun to buy other peoples and see them up close. I have to keep buying them so I can get better!!! Which means I have to keep selling them, too.

I still think you should try one Starbreeze The Winsor paints work well on them
The only way I’m going to try and paint one, is if you or Frozen put little numbers on the PYO and on the matching paint and turn it into a ‘paint-by-numbers’ project…that I might be able to do… 😆 😆 😆
December 23, 2006 at 10:29 pm #516243I should have specified… How many PYOs in all?
December 23, 2006 at 10:38 pm #516244I hear on you other’s paint jobs being more exciting. I’ve sold every PYO I did at this point except the firecat one in my icon here. But I’m not selling the one Watergazer did for me!
(I’ve actually thought about getting somebody else to paint a version of the firecat. That would we awesome!)

Geez I was hoping you didn’t mean that. I have bought 3 kirins and sold 2. One of which I liked and one I didn’t. 3 dragons (I got an extra one because one arrived with a broken horn)and I have ebayed 2 of them. The copper one, which I would have kept if I had not bought Quills copper one, and the one on Ebay right now (Might be my favorite.) You know about the wolves, and for griffins…Geeezzzz… Um, I have bought about 15, maybe, and I still have some here. I have sold the silver, the owl, the pink, the gold, the lion, the blue, the tomatoe (That I totally disliked) and now the black. So…8, I think, that I have sold or will sell. I have so far only kept one of my own, and thats the first pink one I did. I may keep this orangey one for a bit…who knows.
December 23, 2006 at 11:05 pm #516246😆 That’s okay, I knew it was a lot! And I still think the buying, painting and selling thing is smart! Besides, you usually turn a profit on them from what I’ve seen?

Yep, so far I only lost money on one, and it was kinda sloppy. I love painting these guys, but I feel bad for flooding Ebay with them sometimes. I guess it doesn’t matter. The real artists are still getting alot of money for theirs when they come up. Mine dont seem to bring down the value.
December 23, 2006 at 11:15 pm #516248Excuse me!!!! You are a ‘real’ artist!!!

LOL! I agree, the only ones that are safe from Ebay are the ones I got from Arlla, Frozen, and Water, Though Waters was a gift for my bf, but it broke. He still says he wants it, though. They are much nicer to look at than my own.starbreeze wrote:Excuse me!!!! You are a ‘real’ artist!!!
I dont feel like one. I dont know when you get to the point of being a real artist 😕 I look at my stuff, and I think it looks nice. Everyone who has bought one of my pieces has liked it…But I just dont consider myself an artist. I think I need more talent first. 😛 Maybe when I start disliking my own stuff…THEN Im a real artist!
😛December 23, 2006 at 11:51 pm #516250okay….not sure why an artist has to dislike their own work…but you’ll always be a ‘real’ artist to me… 😀

You did? Sell them all I mean… Do you list them as shipping only in the US, because I don’t remember seeing them…
December 24, 2006 at 6:20 am #516252I sold several to friends, and others to people who claimed them when I finished them, and did a few more as commissions and a few as presents for birthdays and Christmas. I’ve only ever put up one on ebay, and that was the lava elemental gryphon. I always put down worldwide shipping though. I really don’t understand why people don’t. If the buyer is willing to pay the extra, why not? It’s not like it’s any more effort for me to stuff it in a box and write a Canadian address. I guess there’s the customs form, but that takes all of two minutes to fill out, at most.
December 24, 2006 at 6:27 am #516253You sold the elemental fire griff? I thought you said somewhere you wouldn’t, but maybe I remember wrong.
December 24, 2006 at 6:41 am #516254I pondered keeping him, but ended up selling him. Though you might be thinking of where I said I wouldn’t make a second one, he’ll be one of a kind. (Though I am going to do matching dragons, and maybe a ki-rin, shoud they ever do one with yellow eyes.)
