Am I correct in thinking this guy is mistaken? Windstone never made music boxes did they?
May 18, 2008 at 12:22 am #704353That’s the first I’ve heard of Windstone Music boxes. 😕
May 18, 2008 at 12:26 am #704354I’d say send that to John. That does not look like Melody’s work to me.
May 18, 2008 at 12:28 am #704355Definitely have never heard of Windstone music boxes, and the dragons look nothing like Melody’s style.
I hope the seller is just mistaken. Things could get complicated with the Windstone name being associated with more than one creator/distributor of fantasy sculpture. 😕
May 18, 2008 at 12:53 am #704356May 18, 2008 at 1:11 am #704357Those definately aren’t Windstones. Wonder where they got the name? Just trying to ride the coattails of some big Windstone auctions recently?
(thought of a Windstone music box though- yummy!)May 18, 2008 at 1:31 am #704358May 18, 2008 at 1:44 am #704359Kujacker wrote:No, that’s just one of those common dragon figures. The seller probably is just mistaken. I don’t think it should be sent to John, either but that’s me.
The seller uses the phrase “Windstone Editions” in the description of the auction as a specific feature. That’s like using “Bang & Olufsen” as a feature on an auction for a Crosley radio. You don’t just make that kind of mistake unless you think that “B&A” is synonymous with “radio” or “Windstone Edition” is synonymous with “dragon sculpture”.
If it’s not a scam, it should certainly be treated like one.

I think this is exactly what happened here. If you in their store you’ll see they do have several windstones up for sale. It’s possible that when they were building the auction they used an old template that still had the Windstone Editions name in it.
May 18, 2008 at 4:21 am #704361May 18, 2008 at 3:04 pm #704362He’s got some other Windstones for sale. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he might have just been copying/pasting his auction titles/descriptions and got confused?
I feel sorry for his real Windstones, though. >.>; @ their condition
May 18, 2008 at 7:23 pm #704363UGH Those are definitely not Windstones but the idea of a Windstone music box is definitely appealing.
Isn’t the use of the Windstone name with the dragons an infrigenment?

Yes, this is what I think now upon closer inspection. I dont think he is trying to pull a fast one. I mean seriously- he has other legit Windstones up for auction, he must know collectors, even newbies can tell the difference between pieces like Summit (which I think those are) and Windstone running side by side.
