I get to be a bum and crash at my parent’s house for about a month until we can close on a house. 🙁 I feel guilty! But the real estate agent told my MIL that he can’t show this house with our stuff in it. It’s true, our furniture is not as nice as my in-laws stuff and doesn’t match the ‘value’ of this house, so I can understand. Out stuff is all second-hand since we’re just starting out and can’t afford much. It’s not as… uh… ‘expensive’ looking and so devalues the house; it’s a little beat up here and there, you know how it is. Plus since I basically live in one room and have no place to store stuff it gets a little cluttered in here. So, we’re going to have to put all of our stuff except the pets and my painting supplies into a storage unit for a while and move out!

Yup! I know that feeling! My room is the size of a walk in closet, smaller than a tiny college single! Most of my stuff is in storage, except expensive things, like Windstones, since I’ve already had two apartments! My parents are looking to either buy our place (finally!) or another place after the new year, so I’ll be able to actually take my stuff out of storage! Will be nice to see what books I actually own 😆 Can’t afford a place on my own, so I have to make it work. I chip in some rent and help around the house, so I’m useful to have around 😆

I thought I always heard that a furnished house shows and sells faster than an empty one. I hope you are able to sell quickly and for a good price. Good Luck

It does, and the house will stay furnished (with their expensive stuff). I just ‘rent’ an upstairs room from them, and my stuff is not as nice looking. They have nice furniture they’ll put in here once I am gone.
