IT!!!!
I saw like 5 mins of that when I was 6 or so… and now I’m terrified of clowns. Seriously, to this day, I can’t look at a clown without starting to hyperventilate… 😳
Now I laugh my butt off at most horrors. I’m the person giggling in the middle row, while every other girl (and some of the guys) are shrieking. XD I am also that person you all hate when you go to the movies as a group who points at the screen and says – “She’s next” or “She’s actually dead, you know, she just doesn’t know it yet”… etc. Not loudly. Just loudly enough for the two people to my immediate left and right to hear me. That’s what they get for dragging me to a horror flick. Bwahaha.
People don’t take me to see horror movies anymore… I wonder why? 😆 😆

😆 😆 You are funny!September 14, 2009 at 8:22 pm #782975For me it was Poltergeist, I swear I jumped a freaking mile when she told him not to pull the rope and he did and that huge skeletal dragon head came out after him. (My friends laughed at me for a week) The meat with the grubs was also really gross.
Alien, watched it late at night when I was 12, on HBO, we weren’t supposed to watch it, but my friend Traci and I did anyway. (since then, I’ve seen it a million times and it doesn’t bother me)
Another late night movie that stuck with me was Black Widow, creepy weird black and white horror my stepdad let me stay up with him to watch, I think I was 10.

September 15, 2009 at 5:22 pm #782976I don’t remember these movies actually *scaring* me as a kid, but I remember disliking them, so they probably did:
ET
Gremlins
Wizard of Oz
Willy WonkaAs an adult, I can think of 2 particular movies:
The Blair Witch Project
SignsThe Blair Witch Project because it was so…real. Not a big production, expensive, clearly movie movie. And Signs…2 scenes: the one where you just catch a glimpse of *something* slipping behind a guy on the news in a corn field; and the one where the claw comes out from under the door. I just about died when that happened. I have a very active imagination and that one brought all the monsters under my bed back to life for that moment. I also will be creeped out at supposedly “real life” shows based on ghosts where you see reenactments of poltergeist activity. I don’t know why.
I’m one of those that guesses who’s “next” with the gory ones and laughing at how ridiculous they are. But the subtle scares get me.September 15, 2009 at 7:11 pm #782977I fell asleep during the Shining 😆

And some TV movie about a giant rat getting into this couple’s home and killing their cat… I saw that one at my grandparents’ house and after that I almost wouldn’t spend the night there anymore, because it made me think of the rat! 😆
*After remembering the rat movie I got curious and spent some time Googling “giant rat movies.” Found out this gem was called “Night of the Rat” and it was part of a movie called Nightmares that was made up of four shorter films. Apparently it was made in ’83 and later ran on late-night TV. So now I can explain the lameness of it all! 😀

SignsBoth those movies are high up on my adult scare list. The Blair Witch for what they don’t show you; I love the psychological scare of it. And Signs for the scene where you glimpse the alien walking past during the Birthday Party. Even though they set the scene up so you know something’s coming, it still shocked me and I almost joined Joaquin Phoenix in that closet.
